Description of 1989 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500

So here is the deal. i know absolutely NOTHING about this vehicle history and i mean NOTHING. I broke down in Cheyenne. WY in my ulta-reliable Land Rover. nbsp; that i had only just purchased to make a cross country trip. yes please sense the sarcasm. I was so happy that i had just dumped $3500 down the drain. I was eventually towed into a Midas dealership in Cheyenne who gave me the delightful news on how much the estimated repairs would be. that's right you guessed it. almost 3 times the cost of the vehicle !!!!So i had to get back to Virginia for work. and i had my trailer with me so i could not get a car rental. so i took the decision to buy something in Cheyenne to get me. my dogs and my trailer home. The staff at Midas were great and looked around locally for me on Craigslist and a couple of vehicles looked somewhat promising however none of the owners would allow Midas to do an inspection. not so promising after all ! Then along came this Silverado. it was absolutely disgusting on the inside and was covered with a couple of hundred acres of land and dirt but it seemed to check out. When i checked the stereo it had a Christian rock CD in it. i took that as a sign !!!! To be truthful i was getting irritated and wanted to go home. so I had to put a new thermostat and gasket in it. $81. 00. and off we went. The young man who i bought it from claims that when he purchased it that he paid $3K for it and that the engine and transmission have approximately 110K on them. Take it for what it is. The speedometer works but the trip doesn't and shows 114K milesSo this is what i can tell you. it did about 8 to the gallon towing my fully loaded. (read overloaded) trailer without a problem. The exhaust is LOUD. nbsp; like boy racer LOUD and i am not sure if the exhaust has been cut or the but doesn't go past the passenger door. the Silverado has obviously been raised. the brakes are somewhat debateable but they stopped me. i think they just need bled to be honest with you as i could not hear any grinding. However for all its faults it got me home and the motor did run really strong. It started straight up and still does. The transfer case works. dont ask how i know !!! So i am home. and i don't need the vehicle anymore. I am selling it completely "as is" but i was grateful that it made it all the way back here without missing a beat. Hopefully it will serve her new owners well.
