1990 Chevrolet Camaro IROC Z/28 Convertible
I've included the spec build sheet in the photos so you can see all the options on this particular build. A bit of history... The first car I ever owned was a 1989 Camaro RS. I always loved this car and let it get away much too soon. So 25 years later I wanted to reconnect with the badass IROC. The only problem... my other half says I have too many cars so something MUST go, 966 Chevelle or the IROC I intended to keep this car as a collector so I spent a ton on doing what was necessary to make it all proper inside and out. I had our local Chevrolet dealer go through the entire car. I wanted the best guys working on this car and I wanted it done right. They hooked it up to computers and ran all the test. Although this car only has 53,000 miles things will go bad. You may find a car with less miles but unless they went through the car like I did, t has issues that need to be addressed. Even on a car with 10,000 miles can have dried weather stripping dried and cracked bushings and seals. Believe it or not, car that that never gets driven is not necessarily in better shape then this one. Below is what we found needing addressed. The Chevy dealer did the all the following work and I have the work order to show. Certified multi point inspection found... Bad voltage gauge. Under car bushings where dried out and cracked. These days it's easier to replace the entire arms versus just the bushing. Replaced both lower ball joints Replaced the lower control arm and pitman arm Replaced the idler arm and pitman arm Repacked and resealed wheel bearings Replaced engine mounts Replaced the transmission mounts Replace front sway bar links Replace both front sway bar mounts Replaced inner and outer tie rod links on both ends Replace both toe adjuster sleeves Replaced both struts and mount assembly's Front wheel alignment This car feels tight, rives straight and handles like a new car. The dealer also replaced all necessary weather stripping on doors and seals Replaced the Catalytic converter and a new EGR valve to ensure years of emission free problems. Recently pass a strict CALIFORNIA SMOG emissions test. Recharged the air condition system, uns ice cold. Replaced center console armrest. Replaced the front headlights and fog lights. Replaced front Camaro grill. The old one was faded. I can include the original. I am the 3RD owner the original owner had this car until just last year. The second owner just flipped the car then I bought it. The original owners of this car took great care they had the car freshly repainted in its original black. There are no paint chips on the front at all. A brand new convertible top was put on and the back window is clean and clear. Top operates Just as intended. This car looks AMAZING. The entire interior looks amazing. The dash looks like new, rm rest are flat with no sun warpage like you will see on many of these car that sit outside in the sun. Carpets and seats look great, ll the plastic parts in great condition. New floor mats, still have the original mats minus the driver's side that I will include. I installed a new SONY sound system with Bluetooth hands free operation. XM RADIO compatible. I have and will include the original stereo. I also replaced all the original crappie speakers but will include the originals if you want them. I installed a brand new alarm system with keyless entry, ot sure these cars even came with one. The tires are new the wheels look great a couple of rims have some oxidation in a few spots. I just had this car professionally detailed buffed and polished along with new decal kit installed. I have a second set of decals I will include. The car really looks AMAZING. CARFAX will show a clean report no problems check it out. Think I covered it all. Feel free to ask questions. |
