Description of 1957 Chevrolet Corvette |
Up for sale is this 1957 Corvette. I bought this car locally last year and the previous owner had owned it for 31 years. I bought it to finish and keep but I just do not fit in these C1 cars. I am open to a trade up or down on a 1967 Corvette project or finished car. With the exception of the body and the paint which was completed a few years back the car has just undergone a complete restoration where either the original parts were restored or new parts were bought. There are a lot of original and correct parts on this car. The previous owner had started restoration on this car and the body had been finished and painted when I bought it. It is single stage enamel and shows well. It has not been wet sanded and buffed but it actually has a laquer look to it as is so if you plan to judge the car NCRS or Bloomington Gold you may want to leave it as is. The engine was just completely rebuilt and the carbs are the original restored Carter WCFB's. Interior is all correct Al Knoch. The five restored wheels with the car are original. The top was completely restored by glassworks. This is a late 4 speed car and all of the late 57 things are present on the car. The Wonder Bar radio was just rebuilt. The car only has 3.5 miles on it since I finished it a couple of weeks ago. I have gone through a check and as far as I can tell everything works on the car with the exception of the parking brake alarm. I have not been able to get it to work. The paint still shows very well but the car was painted a few years ago and isnt perfect. I would say 8 out of 10. I am in NW Georgia about an hour North of Atlanta and an Hour South of Chattanooga TN. You are welocme to come see and drive the car in person. Feel free to give me a call with any questions. The jack and handle are the only thing I know missing. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I am a private owner not a dealer.
