Description of 1968 Chevrolet Other |
This Chevy van was converted by McNamee Coach builders aka Kamp King Koaches when it was new. It is in surprisingly good condition inside and out considering it;s age and what it is. These are very rare and most of them were built on the Dodge platform. Every search I've done on the Chevy verion bring's up this very same one. It will start, dle, rive, nd stop. The transmision shifts smoothly, rakes work well. It is need of a tuneup and it caughs and sputters a bit but it runs. There s a small coolant leak fron the water pump common on the Chevrolet small block when they are stored for many years (the output shaft seal dries up). It has no other leaks. This thing is super cool, nd super rare. This is sitting in my shop next to a 66 GTO convertible, 4 Vista Cruiser and a very other rare and desireable cars and people can't take their eyes off thisCamper. Driving down the street turns every head. Since my friend and I bought this we havepainstakingly stripped thebrush applied enamel paint down to the original laquer showing the original patina. This van has never had any body damage and there is only one small bit of rust by the front window. All glass is good. All the parts that are missing in the photos are included and in great shape (bumper, arkerlights, eadlamp trim etc.) The wheels are era correct vintage slotted mags with NEW BF Goodrich Radial T/As for that 70's "Custom Vanner" look. Needs some side pipes! Vans and campers are becoming more popular at the car shows and if you want to have something that no one else has here is your chance!
