Description of 1953 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel air |
I want to start off by asking you to please call for honest answers BEFORE you bid. Or better yet. come by and look at the car or have someone inspect it for you. I do the best I can describing my vehicles and I include very good pictures that can be expanded. I do this to try and avoid any misunderstandings like one I had recently. It is almost impossible to list every little item on a car that may or may not be important to a buyer. Thanks. I want to start off with saying that I recently purchased this vehicle will full intent on keeping it. I probably paid more for it than I should have because I had been looking a long time for a 53 Chevy convertible in this condition. One that was not stock but not a full custom either. I did not want a stock driveline or air conditioning. I also did not want a car that was too customized. especially the interior. ( I like stock bench seats ). I wanted a car that would not be hard to make it look basically stock again. This car fit the bill. A change of wheels and tires. a few exterior emblems re-installed. and this car would look basically stock. Unfortunately. or fortunately. however you look at it. I may not be making those changes to the car now. I ran across a great deal on a commercial building that I really cannot pass up. My loan was officially approved this week. so that is the only reason why this car is up for sale. I sold a few cars recently in anticipation of the building deal coming together. and this was one of my last cars that I was willing to part with. I did not want to sell it unless the real-estate deal firmed up. My potential loss could be your gain. This car went through a total nut and bolt restoration. It is a show car that be driven anywhere with no issues. It appears to have always been a rust free car. ( See the pics of the underside ) Even some of the original undercoating is still present. No signs of any floor pan. trunk pan. rock panel. body sheet metal. repairs or replacement. The body is laser straight. The doors close like new. Most of the chrome is like new or new. The vent window chrome looks to be original. Not really bad. but not as nice as the rest. All stainless trim has been polished to a chrome like look. All new weatherstripping. All new wiring. The color is a GM color called Radar Blue. Depending on the lighting. it goes from a cool metallic blue to a very dark blue with a slight purple hue. The sun really sets it off. The all new. and custom stitched. two tone blue interior really stands out and compliments the exterior color very well. It is a very high grade quality vinyl. As well as the all new white convertible top. The entire metal top mechanism was sandblasted and re-painted. There is a matching parade boot for the top in the trunk. The fit and finish on this car is probably better now than when it left the factory. The wheels and tires must have cost a whole lot. Not my style. but new and very nice looking. The wheels are Billet Specialties. It does not have A/C but it does have heat. Does have power steering and power disc brakes. All new aftermarket Mustang II front suspension. Nice Kenwood stereo system also. Tilt steering wheel. The only thing I was going to change in the interior was the aftermarket gauge package under the dash. It does not fit the high level of the rest of the car. I was going to go with a new factory looking. in the original dash opening. unit. The driveline is all new also and consists of the following. 400 cu in small block bored to 406. B&M blower. Holley carb. Mild cam. Block hugger headers. Custom Flow Master exhaust. 700 R4 overdrive 4 speed automatic transmission. 9" Ford posi rear end with 3:31 highway gears for cruising. It starts right up. idles great. nice low exhaust sound but not overly loud. smooth acceleration and cruising. and lots of extra power available if you kick the blower in. All in all. this is a great car. nbsp;that drives great. and at what I feel is a great price. Especially. considering that the prices for 49 to 54 Chevys have been coming on very strong recently. Probably because the price of tri-fives have gone through the roof. A 55 - 57 Chevy convertible in the same condition as this car could bring close to double my buy it now price. I know I am forgetting something here. so please call with your questions BEFORE you bid. NO TRADESNO TRADESNO TRADESNow for the business end. I encourage you. or someone you trust or hire. to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. but it is being sold as is with no warranty once it leaves here. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 5 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again. my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks. DaveI do not respond to text messages. One more time. nbsp;NO TRADES. Please do not ask. If you do not know. understand. and accept what "no trades" means. then you surely do not have a vehicle that I would be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers. text messages. or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer. please do so through normal ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer. I will contact you back. If you do not hear back from me. then my vehicle must be out of your price range. I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying the vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or less than 10 total feedbacks. you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. Non-paying winners are a real problem for sellers and it is hard to get seller fees refunded from Ebay in a timely manner. if at all. For you new members. please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. Thanks to all. good luck with your bidding. and have a great day.
