Description of 1971 Chevrolet Camaro

1971 Chevy Camaro Z28

History:

I purchased this car in November 2001. At the time it did not have the original motor or transmission. I used it as my daily driver until 2004 when I deployed to Iraq (was in the Army). When I returned I removed the old 350 and Saginaw 4 speed and replaced it with a LS1 and T56 6 speed manual trans from a 2000 Camaro Z28.

This is what was done:

LS1 with T56 with 24,064 miles ($5,025) New coated Shorty headers from street and performance ($535)

Motor mounts are fully welded and bolted in.

Frame was removed and sandblasted and powder coated ($250).

Custom trans mount and motor mounts from Brewers Restoration ($449)

Custom drive shaft from Driveline NW ($304)

Engine wiring harness ($730) and car harness ($306) from painless wiring

Computer was reprogrammed by Speartech ($300)

New radiator, ower steering pump, c compressor, cc brackets, ir intake, uel injector bars, nd hoses ($800)

New AGR steering box ($330) with steed braded lines and an aluminum catch can

All new tie rods, nner and outer, enter link, itman arm, ct ($250)

New suspension from Global West ($2,858) to include tubular control arms with bushings, ingle adjustable coil overs and tie rod sleeves up front, at 5 leaf springs with single adjustable shocks in the back. Delalum body bushings were installed too.

Competition Engineering sub frame connectors ($150)

Drive line safety loop with Flowmaster 3 chamber mufflers.

New (Dec 15) PTFE braded stainless fuel feed and return lines replace the braded rubber lines ($260)

New Rock Valley stainless steel fuel tank with intake fuel pump ($1,080)

Bear Track disk brakes, piston fronts, piston rears with integrated parking brake ($2,518)

New stainless steel brake lines all around ($150)

New wheels Centerline Lazer 17X8 and 17X9.5 with Falken Azenis RT-615 ($2,312)

Original 10 bolt diff was sand blasted and powder coated ($200), etroit locker $630), ith Richmond gear 3.42:1 ($176), ew mouser axels ($236) and summit cover ($150) all installed by 4 wheel parts in Tacoma, a with new bearings, eals, ct ($573)

Optima battery, ed top ($165), ounted in the trunk over the rear right tire in a billet holder ($80)

Autometer gauges inside of a custom aluminum dash insert ($500 )

Center mounted E-break ($80) and new cables ($88)

Flaming River tilt steering column ($298) with Grant wheel with wheel removal security adapter ($177)

Detroit Speed spectra wiper kit ($350) with hide away wipers

Shaved door handles ($3,832 for install and $200 for the solenoids)

Power windows ($330)

Corbeau seats with custom brackets and 3 point adjustable seat belts ($650)

Rare rear window defroster
