Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro |
We are trying to sell our numbers matching 1968 Camaro before we have to move it to Florida. The car is currently in Ramsey New Jersey. The car can be seen / inspected by appointment in Ramsey. If the car does not sell while in New Jersey we plan to tow the car to our new home in Naples Florida on or around the first week of March. We can deliver the car anywhere along I95 from Ramsey to Miami for an additional fee. The car is posted on Craigslist in New Jersey, ew York, iami and Naples in addition to eBay. The car is in need of complete restoration. There is some rust, s you can see the trunk pan has been removed. I have included pictures showing where the rust areas are. Assume there is some rust in most of the places where rust is common on these 1968 Camaro's. 99.9% of all parts are included. The grill was broken when we purchased the car and needs to be replaced, here is no grill; however most of the other front end parts and other trim are included. Most of the hard work of removing these components is done. All you have to do is decide whether to re-chrome them or powder coat them. The great thing about the car is that it is a numbers matching 327 3-Speed car as seen in the pictures. Another great thing is that it's a blank slate. You can choose the colors, he options, verything. Build the car of your dreams. This one has your name on it! This iconic collector cars engine / heart was built on June 29, 968. The car was assembled during the first week of July at the Norwood assembly plant near Cincinnati Ohio nearly 47 years ago. I have this vision of someone out there born between June 29, 968 and July 7, 968 that would love to have this car all fixed up and looking beautiful in their garage by their 47thbirthday. This car is the perfect platform to make that happen and what a fantastic birthday present that would be! The VIN number on the dash matches the VIN number on the original 327 engine as seen in the attached pictures. I am not sure if the transmission number matches or not.My research shows the car was originally Grotto Blue with Black interior. An example is shown in the last picture. Dash VIN: 124378N464692 Firewall: 07A NOR165072 712 DD Engine VIN: 464692 V0629 As you know there is a huge marketplace for Camaro parts and accessories. You can literally build a complete car from scratch with the parts available on the internet these days. Companies like Classic Industries, ear One and others offer a wide variety of parts for these Camaros. Here are a few links.. http://www.classicindustries.com/shop/camaro/parts/ https://www.yearone.com/Catalog/1967.81.camaro http://www.oerparts.com/ https://www.npdlink.com/store/catalog/Camaro_1967_1981_Camaro_Parts_and_Accessories-7-1.html https://myclassicgarage.com/marketplace/knowledge_base/1968-chevrolet-camaro We are asking a fair "Buy it Now" price of $9,500. We are automatically rejecting offers below $7,500 We are not saying we will accept an offer of $7,500 but at least we are close enough to have a realistic conversation. Within the first 24 hours of this posting, he system automatically rejected a $5000 and a $6000 offer. We all know what these cars are worth especially with the original numbers matching engine. The rarity of having a numbers matching car is what I found appealing when I purchased the car 11 years ago. |
