Here we go my bowtie brothers and sisters. I know we all have a soft spot for classic Americana a time when all things had style and lets face it were made with love, ot a computer program. Lets slip back to a bygone era when ponies a plenty pranced proudly under the cowl induction hood and were reigned in only by your right foot. A day when go juice met a happy spark and that simple synergy created a beast of epic proportions that snorted its fervor to wake every sleeping neighbor that was unfortunate enough to be within a city block range. No computers, o control modules, o traction control just the smell of charred rubber and spent fuel to a chorus of angels singing the praises of all the beauty those ponies brought to the show. Life was good and here is your chance to relive those glory days in epic style.

Now that I’ve wet your whistle lets tell you what we have here for your consideration. You are gazing upon one of the most tastefully done, olid survivor 1971 Chevrolet Nova’s I have ever had the pleasure to gaze upon. It drives, uns, tops, nd sounds even better than it looks and as you can see it looks pretty incredible.

Our little fire breather began life as a V8 coupe and was purchased new by a school teacher and driven daily until 1982 when a small engine problem (at just over 60K miles), nd some persuasion from the school mechanic / shop teacher, ade him decide to start down the road to what you see now. That is right, his car has been in transition and off the road for 34 years. He got busy with life and family but slowly piece by piece lovingly did things right. He unmounted the subframe, ebuilt the front end, eplaced with all new rubber everything. He had the motor completely rebuilt, s was the transmission, ew U joints, rakes, tc. About 3 years ago he was retiring and having health troubles and sold to a friend of his. This friend put it in the garage and just never found time to work on it. Thats where I came in. I bought it 6 months ago nearly finished but just not quite done. I spent a few hours taking care of the last few touch ups and began to enjoy the fruits of 34 years of blood, eat and tears.

The motor is a 350 and has a strong cam and plenty of power. It has plenty of eye candy that impresses all who lift her lid. It breathes through an Edelbrock 650 and long tube headers with brand new 3 inch allumminized exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers capped off with dual wall polished stainless tips. The block and trans were painted a dark gray to match and look great with all the aluminum dressing. It has an Amazing rumble at idle and it barks loudly when the right foot gets heavy.

The trans is a TH350 that shifts well and has a billet Pan for good looks. There are no growls, ops, lunks or anything just slide the TCI pistol grip shifter into D and Dang do you go. The rear end is a solid 10 bolt and is still a one legger but should you desire a positraction unit its a quick summit.com away.

The body work he had done is absolutely stunning. It was painted over 10 years ago and there is no cracking, eeling, ubbling or even a scratch anywhere. It is so laser strait its amazing and these cars would show any bad body work due to their absolute flatness. The door handles and key hole were shaved and done right. The doors open with a remote popper and the trunk opens with a button under the dash (Backup buttons for the doors are located under the dash too) The cowl hood is new and looks just as GM intended, erfect. The paint has NO orange peel and has been color sanded and buffed to perfection. Gaps are tight and way better than the factory ever hoped to accomplish. There are no rock chips to speak of because it has only been on the road for 6 months now. I have been above and below this car and it is solid and has no cancer I can see anywhere. Needless to say the paint and body leave no regrets.

All the chrome is new: Bumpers bezels, irrors, rille, tc, tc, tc as are all the lenses for the lights. The windshield is new and all the glass seems good. There are a few scratches in the back window but not critical. Door glass goes up and down easily and all wind lace etc is new. Every rubber piece looks to be new also.

The interior is excellent and very classic meets modern classy. The headliner looks to be original and like new. All the belts are original and in great shape too. Everything else inside is new from the dash pad to the rear package tray. The racing buckets are very comfortable and hold you far better that the factory bench seat could ever hoped to. The dash was repainted and a custom led display installed that looks great and functions as it should. Even the visors are New and perfect.

Sounds like a lot of car right? Why would I not just keep it for another 34 years. The reason is I am a lover of Classic Bowties but one with a limited amount of barn space and a bride that has only so much patience for my hobbies. I would love to keep it but I have many other ponies filling the stalls of my abode so my old shoe box Nova needs a new pasture to graze in.
