SELLER REMARKS: This brilliant Sierra Green Chevelle is a real code 138 SS sport coupe, nd packs a correct 396 and a bunch of desirable options, ncluding factory Power Windows, emote Mirror, nd Front Disc Brakes. Outfitted in 375 horsepower specs, his is a potent A-body with a ton of style that's available for less than the restoration cost. Who cares if Capri Cream is this car's original color when it looks this good wearing sophisticated Sierra Green? Combined with the big block under the hood, t's pretty clear that the restorer had no intention of sneaking around, nyway. Restored to a very high standard, his SS hardtop is simply dazzling in person, ith super-straight bodywork that emphasizes the Chevelle's long rear quarters and unique C-pillar treatment that lasted only two years. Gaps are excellent all around, nd the paint is worlds better than even the best finish available in 1967, ith a shine so deep you can almost swim in it. All the correct SS details are there, oo, ncluding the blacked-out tail panel, lack SS stripe on the flanks, nd the trick hood with simulated vents that were a Chevy trademark for years. Original chrome bumpers are installed (some pitting), ll the stainless was polished to match, nd re-newed badges and emblems were installed in the original locations. The code 763-B bucket seats were restored to an enhanced Reccarro like condition to prevent the front occupants from sliding side-to-side while going around corners as the original design was known for. The slick center console houses the shifter for the heavy-dutyTH400 3-speed automatic underneath, s well as an optional clock (not working). This car was clearly ordered for its luxury as well as performance, ince it includes such niceties as power windows, isc Brakes, nd a Remote Driver’s Mirror. New carpet, eupholstered door panels, nd a taut headliner give it a showroom fresh look inside. The stock AM radio with a new dash speaker work just like new. A new SS 3-Spoke black steering wheel is included with this vehicle. In the trunk, ou'll find a reproduction mat and a full-sized spare tire assembly. The car was restored 10 years ago (only 1000 miles on it since), ut the big date-code-correct 396 inch V8 still looks great with all the little details correct. If you wanted a Chevelle SS in 1967, ou got this big block as standard equipment, nd the original buyer obviously liked his comfort to go along with the speed. It fires up with a snarl, nd idles in a way that lets you know there's plenty of horsepower working inside. Externally, owever, t looks stock, ith Chevy Orange paint on the block, hrome valve covers, nd proper decals on the factory air cleaner. The beefy TH400 spins a 12-bolt Posi with 3.55s inside, o it's a relaxed cruiser that can still embarrass a lot of cars at the stop light grand prix. The chassis is impressively clean and highly detailed, eaturing a huge dual exhaust system that sounds awesome. Classic Rally wheels with chrome center caps are in excellent condition. You couldn't duplicate this car for the reserve price, nd it's a fast, eliable, orrect, nd highly-optioned SS that will win fans wherever it goes. Bid now! |
