The trunk is neatly finished with red carpets that look very clean and the recent white convertible top stows neatly under a matching red boot.As a code 38 V8 SS, small block V8 under the hood is a natural. The 327 cubic inch V8 was rebuilt with a few upgrades and dressed like it was at the factory. The original air cleaner still lives up top, lthough it's been chrome plated to match the valve covers, et wears a reproduction sticker. A newer alternator, n Edelbrock carb and intake with long-tube headers add some horsepower, nd Chevy Orange paint makes it look right. It's backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and a 10-bolt rear end, o the powertrain is pretty much bulletproof, recent Flowmaster dual exhaust system gives it a great V8 voice but doesn't betray this car's low-key demeanor. Handling is crisp, s Chevelles have always featured coil springs all around, nd braking is confident despite the lack of power assist. Four 14-inch wheels with original SS wheelcovers look right and wear recent BFGoodrich redline radials that complete the simple, nassuming look.Just a tidy, o-nonsense Malibu, lbeit one with a great look.
