Hello,I can't say for sure but I don't believe I have ever seen a Chevrolet truck exactly like this one before now! This is an extremely rare "low cab forward" or "LCF" model, the cab, doors, hood and everything is TIGHT! This is the nicest old truck I have ever personally seen. It was purchased exactly like it sits now from Geis Chevrolet in York, NE. in 1964. No alterations have been done of any kind except for the following. They were forced by their insurance company to put in a fuel shut off as you can see from the driver side door pics. I looked up under the dash and seen a wire hanging and now the lighter even works! I drove it Sunday on a 30 mile (one way) trip just to make SURE everything worked like it was supposed to and it did. Every light works, even the blinkers work like they are supposed to. I have changed the engine oil, transmission oil and put Lucas Hub Oil in the rear end and topped it off too. I wouldn't be afraid to jump in this and drive it across the country, it would take a while as I never take it over 45 mph. I would guess 55 is about the top end but I am not about to "push" a unit this old and rare. Can you imagine a 1964 model with a 327 that runs like new?The man who bought it new kept this truck in perfect working order the last 52 years and it shows in every way. I had a guy come out and look at it and he was telling me he has never actually seen a 327 with that low miles and when I started it he was blown away. It starts instantly and runs perfectly. The brakes were completely rebuilt 5 years ago and about 10 years back he had the dealer put on another brake booster (over $1500) and man does this thing stop!! The steering wheel is not cracked and it drives down the road like a new (52 year old) truck should. I drove it home from his place in another town that was 150 miles away and it just kept running better and better all the way home. This truck also has power steering and a tachometer, two things I also have never seen in an old Chevrolet truck. I have two new fan belts coming for it because the old ones are stretched and need replaced. The front tires are basically new and the back 8 are not. They aren't terrible but they aren't great either, I can't imagine anyone would buy this truck for actual hauling but the rear tires would need replaced if you were going to do too much trucking with it. The tires aren't rotting off because it was stored inside but they are older tires. the hoist works perfectly and almost stands that huge box straight up!I don't know what else to add, it is a tandem rear end, the front axle does all the pulling the rear is just there to haul extra weight. The box is 18' long and is also in near perfect condition, it has ONLY hauled grain from the field to the grain bin. The passenger door was damaged and he had it fixed and repainted, he thought it was about 15 years back. The cab & box paint was oxidized but when I took some rubbing compound to the cab and it still has a shine to it! The box would really shine too but I don't have the physical ability to buff it out, I'll let the new owner take care of that one.In summary this is the coolest old Chevy you will ever see!Low Cab Forward, original 327 engine, tag axle, 4 speed with 2 speed rear axle, all the windows are clear and not cracked the wipers and washer even work!! Heater/defroster and fan all also work as if it were almost new, not 52 years old like it is. I am NOT going to power wash it, I am going to leave it exactly like it is so you can see for yourself how this truck has been kept up for over 5 decades now.I'm sure there will be questions and I will try my best to answer them as honestly as I can. This truck is over 50 years old and it goes without saying you are buying AS IS, WHERE IS! I know of a dock nearby we can use if you need to get it hauled and I can store it for a week or so if need be or can help arrange storage here in North Platte. I have a clear title, truck will not leave until payment has been received and if it's a check it has to clear the bank first. NO PAYPAL on this truck, only cash, money wire or Cashier's Check. If you are close and want to look at it please email me and I will send you my phone number. Please ask all the questions you might have.I just have to say how much respect I have for the man who bought this truck new, these are the "good ole boy's" who made this country great! God Bless You and the USA! You can see from the question below I mistakenly thought this had "double hump heads" and after I received this email I did some checking and the guy is right. Sorry for any confusion, I like to keep things "right'.
