Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle |
OK.. I have a 1970 Chevelle Malibu for sale. SURVIVOR Has all original drive train. with 40,000 original miles 307 with th350 transmission and 10 bolt 2.73 rear axle. Power disc brakes with manual steering The Car is an original Code 25-10 Astro Blue with White PAINTED top (kinda rare) I do have the original sales invoice, pre delivery inspection, POP and various receipts. I also have the bumper jack, and the spare tire (rim only)(was also repainted) I lso have all the original trim rings for the wheels, I just like the look of the wheels without them and didn't want to scratch the wheels putting them on. I kind of want to refer to it as a project but it does run and drive very well. The body, floors, frame, and undercarriage are all original and rust free. The paint is very tired and needs redone... Also has various dings and scratches I bought this car from the original owners son after the original owner passed. The car sat in a garage since 1975. It hadn't been started or moved in over 40 years. When I bought the car and had it trailered home, I put it on jack stands, and went thru the process of starting an engine after a long storage. I'm amazed tosay the engine runs great, no smoke, knocks or leaks to speak of. The 307 has really good power for what it is... I went thru the breaks, and they work as they should. I pulled the gas tank, cleaned it out, and put in a fresh strainer. New fuel pump, rebuilt original carb, New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points and condenser. Fresh oil and filter. New thermostat New front pads and master cylinder New 2.5 inchdual exhaust with SS Chevelle chrome tips Original wheels sandblasted and repainted New BF Goodrich Radial T/A's 225/70/14 As of now the Chevelle runs, drives, shifts, starts, and stops as it should. Its 47 years old so Its sold as is, but does run and drive very well... It has all original steel with no rust issues. Everything in the car works as it should with the exception of the washer pump and the front speaker is deteriorated. also no cigarette lighter, the port works but no lighter...(I've used it for my charger) Also the choke is inoperable and I cant seem to find one.(its the thermostat type) Has very slight exhaust manifold gasket leak or lifter tick I cant tell which... Also has a slight off idle stumble that comes and goes... The interior is in very nice original condition, has 2 spots in the headliner that has some small holes. Other than that, its about as nice as you would expect to find. Actually still has the plastic covering on the back seat.... ;) All glass is clear and scratch free with no cracks... Transmission shiftssmooth and correctly. In a nutshell this is one of the most original 1970 Chevelles I've seen in a long time. It is rock solid and runs very well. You would be hard pressed to find a better foundation to build a monster muscle car, or just drive it as it is. I haveput a couple hundred miles on it since I've gotten it running, and always get thumbs up in it.... The Chevelle is sold as is where is, I encourage anyone interested to come and see it in person. I will not release the car until my bank confirms that payment has completely cleared. If the buyer is out of state, shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I will make the car available, and help as much as I can, but setting it up is the buyers responsibility. I've been an Ebay member for a long time and have perfect feedback, I try to describe items to the best of my ability but no one is perfect. If I've missed something please let me know. If you have any questions PLEASE ASK.... |
