Description of 1963 Chevrolet Impala |
This vehicle has been in the body shop for several years and unfortunately my life's dynamics no longer say that I should continue its restoration. The vehicle is running but has not been driven anywhere beyond around the body shop for the past 5 years. The extent of mechanical work remaining unknown. The body shop has misplaced the key so I am working on having a new key made prior to the sale of the vehicle. The shop also changed out points in the ignition to change the ignition coil to electric. It has a 327 engine (as pictured). The odometer reading is around 137,420. I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination so bear with this description and ask questions if the pictures do not provide enough insight. I will try to track down the answers. In addition, the vehicle has brand new tires and chrome rims (14" if I remember correctly). I think the tire has close to a 2" white wall and is a Coker brand tire but please see picture to verify. The interior has been lost given the interior shop went bankrupt over the years so there is absolutely no interior (as pictured). The body shop work is somewhat sloppy in areas as they did not repair the trunk pan and the trunk latch is currently broken. I noticed a little 'extra' paint here and there which is also indicative of sloppy work (see photos). The back window is semi-intact minus a hole and was shattered while in the shop as well. The rear bumper is available but not on car. In addition many trimmings are in the trunk of the car (see photos). I have a clean title in my name and really am disappointed that I won't be seeing this project through but the introduction of 3 kids makes this an unfeasible feat... If you are wondering why any to the pictures are as they are, the car is not located at my home. I traveled to take the pictures of it and unfortunately it was storming the whole weekend. I may be able to collect more information as needed by digging through all of my records but this is the best information I have available in this moment. In addition, message me if you want to see additional pictures. I would like to ensure that you have as much information as I do. |
