Description of 1940 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
1940 Chevrolet Pickup VIN: LCP57322 Ranked among Chevrolet's first truly modern light-duty trucks, the 1940-series vehicles offered more of everything more comfort, more style, and more utility than ever before. Unfortunately, precious few of these handsome workhorses survived today. This outstanding professionally-built example has been featured is numerous magazines and marks an exciting opportunity to own and enjoy this timeless classic today. Outstanding power is delivered by a 383 cubic-inch stroker V8 based on an LT-1 engine topped by a set of aluminum cylinder heads, hooked to a GM 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission that drives a 3.73:1 Gear Ford 9-inch rear end. Goodies include Street & Performance valve covers, a serpentine pulley kit, A/C, power-steering, wiring harness, coolant overflow tank, and spark-plug wire separators. Exhaust is ejected through a set of Sanderson headers feeding a stainless-steel 2 -inch exhaust system with Edelbrock mufflers. Cooling is handled by a Be Cool radiator and electric fan. The Chevy's suspension is thoroughly modernized, beginning with a boxed frame with hidden stainless-steel brake and fuel lines. A 5inch Heidt's cross member, 2-inch dropped spindles, and Ridetech air bags and controls provide a wicked stance up front. The rear leaf-spring suspension is by Chassis Engineering and braking was vastly improved with a set of MP Brakes comprising 9-inch discs up front and drums out back. Fuel is delivered via a fuel tank provided by Tanks. Finished in House of Kolor Blue Blood Red paint, the Chevy features numerous subtle modifications. Among them is a Pro Pick cargo bed, smoothed tailgate, and tonneau cover. The cargo bed features a White Pine wood-floor kit and stainless metal strips. Only 1,515 Miles Since Built Documentation - 2 Large Binders with Pictures and Receipts of the Restoration and a June 2008 copy of Street Rodder Magazine featuring the build are included in the purchase.
