Description of 1978 Chevrolet Camaro |
1978 Camaro Type LT Ralley Sport, Very clean, One Owner car with 39997 actual miles. Title is still showing New issue date, 8-23-78. I bought the car from the original owner, who only sold the car due to failing health. She last had the car registered in 2004, and only drove it very seldom prior to that. The car holds most of its original paint, I believe the black has been touched up, But the blue is original, still shows nice, but is fadeing. The Body is probally the nicest rust free 78 Camaro you will find, never wrecked or repaired, always stored inside, and never driven in snow. The pics of the underside show factory undercoating that was applied when new. Under the undercoating is the factory red oxide primer. The rear body brace is perfect with no rust, this is a problem area with these cars, I tried to get a pic of the rear trunk drop offs, if you can see it, you will see perfect seams, with no rust. Another problem area with these cars. The trunk pics, you can see the factory seam sealer, and perfect floors. The car has a perfect body with no rust anywhere, and never repaired. These cars are also known for weak door pins and bushings, causing misalignment of the doors. This car has its original door pins and bushings, and still closes very well with little effort. If you own one of these cars, you know what im talking about. You usually have to pick up and slam the doors. NOT ON THIS CAR The factory original 350 4bbl engine is in the car, and has never been removed, or altered in anyway except the addition of an accel super coil distributer. The original GM hoses, and tower clamps are still present also. The interior is still very nice, only things wrong with it are, the driverside door arm rest will have to be replaced, and the interior side door handle moulding is broke. The only things I can find with this car that will need attention are, The original exhaust is still on the car, and will need to be replaced. Most of it is still good, but the seams are splitting from sitting too long. I have not replaced it because, wasn't sure if I wanted to do something like a dual exhaust, or go original. The new owner can decide what to do. The Tach is not working, I have not tried to see why, mabey something to do with the accel distrubitor, Im not sure either way. Original AM/FM radio is there, but only works on 1 station, again not sure why. The driverside door parts that I already mentioned, And the Paint. The car is very presentable the way it sits, mostly original paint. I would like to repaint it, But everyone tells me to leave it alone. Now the new owner can decide to leave it or repaint it. These are the only things I can find wrong with the car. This car Runs and Drives great, I have personally drove it 200 miles away to car shows, and around town here, and you will have no issues driving it to where ever you desire. If you have any questions, either call me at 716-397-4379, or Email. I will answer any questions you have. Your more than welcome to come and view the car in person, or have a third party view it for you. |
