Description of 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

Check out this unbelievable like new showroom quality 1970 Chevelle 454 LS6 Super Sport. The VIN indicates this was born as a SS 396 but it was replaced with the period correct 454 LS6 engine that turns this car into a beast. Every piece and part in this Chevelle is new or has been restored to like new standards. The attention to detail with the restoration was the highest standards. It has 4,603 miles since restoration but you would think it hasn’t been driven at all. Nothing has been left untouched. Starting with the exterior, the base coat/clear coat Cranberry Red paint with the black stripes is perfect and has the showroom shine you would expect from a current new model car. The functional Cowl Induction hood looks great. The chrome is perfect as well as the factory tinted windows. There are new 15” BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on the new SS Rally wheels. The interior has a bevy of correct and new instruments in the dash like a new period correct AM/FM radio, new front speakers, correct steering wheel and all the gauges work perfectly with the LED interior lighting. The new red vinyl seats, new carpet and the new floormats make this interior perfect. Also inside you will see the automatic transmission on the floor console, tilt wheel, new seat belt package with shoulder harnesses, power steering, power front disc brakes and yes, very cold A/C under the hood along with the LS6 454/450 HP engine. There are hooker headers connected to new Flowmaster 2 ½ inch dual exhaust system that has been painted silver to give it that clean look. The engine has a high flow water pump with a Robertshaw thermostat that keeps the engine a nice cool 180 degrees even with the A/C running. It has a new fan clutch, MSD electronic distributer and plug wires with boots. The A/C is the current 134a and has a new evaporator, dryer and all hoses have been replaced. The transmission is a rebuilt Turbo 400 that connects to the 12 bolt 3.73 rear axle. Underneath there are new brakes, front and rear sway bars, front and back QA1 adjustable coil-overs and Hotchkis lower trailing arms to give it that great sport firm high performance ride.
