Description of 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1

In early March 1990, the ZR-1 set a new record for the highest 24 hour-5,000 mile land-speed by going over 175mph (282km/h). This same model year was installed in the Smithsonian.
Also called "King of the Hill" there are many unique characteristics to this car, well known to Corvette aficionados. Its engine is a Lotus-designed 32-valve, dual-overhead cam, 350 cubic inch (5.7L.) V-8 with 16 fuel injectors (8 primary, 8 secondary), built by Mercury Marine in OK. Body styling was modified for the ZR-1 to cover the massive 315/35ZR-17 rear tires. The FX-3 Selective Ride Adjustment was standard as was the 6-speed manual gearbox. Many other features were standard including engine oil cooler, ABS II anti-lock braking, Bose CD, and much more.

OPTIONS: Bronze tint Lexan top (as well as the factory black top), barely used.

CONDITION:I would call it very good. Tires have very few miles on them. Expected stone chips in front. No accidents or even fender benders. Please ask questions, we only want a satisfied buyer. Inspection by local buyers strongly encouraged.

Car is available for sale locally and seller reserves the right to end auction early if sold.
OWNERS: We bought it from a private party- we believe he was the second owner and bought it in North Carolina. He was a senior and as he said "getting too old to get in and out of it". We registered the car twice- first in CT and then in PA. We have owned the car since November 1996.
MAINTENANCE: It has been garaged and never driven in winter since we owned it. All maintenance over past 16 years at Ruggieri Cadillac or County Corvette in West Chester, PA. County Corvette replaced clutch (master & slave) in 2014, also replaced injectors. New battery installed 5/28/2016. The only issues we can identify include need to replace speakers (we have not done so... as some buyers might want a newer sound system, others want original) and weather seal at bottom of front windows should be replaced for cosmetic reasons. The following have been disabled: First-to-fourth shift wiring (factory gas saving feature) and valet key.

INSPECTION: Bidders are encouraged to inspect the vehicle in Chadds Ford, PA. Convenient location is 2 hours from NY and 2 hours from Washington, DC. Less than 30 minutes from I-95.
SHIPPING: Seller strongly prefers pick-up. Will only work with buyer for shipping at buyer's expense and buyer's cost. You must email seller and establish any mutually acceptable transport prior to auction end or your bid may be cancelled. All appropriate ID (Driver's license, etc.) must be provided before release to shipper as well as cleared payment.
PICK UP:Successful bidder must communicate with seller within 24 hours of auction end to make arrangements to complete the transaction. If intent to purchase is not confirmed within 5 days, seller reserves the right to relist or sell to any other qualified buyer. Wiggins tag service is less than ten minutes away and provides travel tags with proper ID and documentation for your ease of transport to any State. Cost of a travel tag is $63 and is good for 30 days. Hours for this service are M-F 9 am-8:30 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4:30 pm. There is usually little to no wait time as this is a private service, not a state agency. A driver's license and current insurance card are required but it is suggested you call them to confirm. Wiggins tag service telephone is (610) 388-6995.

PAYMENT: Cash or certified bank check. No Paypal.
Never raced, tracked, or drag raced in the 20 years we have owned it.
This is a sale by a private owner, not a dealer.
Car is sold as-is, where-is. No condition is guaranteed or warrantied and condition described is to the best of our knowledge. Inspections must be performed prior to the end of the auction. No negotiating will be permitted after the auction ends. Seller has the right to end auction early in the event of local sale or to cancel bids of buyers with poor feedback or low number of transactions.

Additional note: I neglected to mention the two sensor lights that have been on for a long time. They are "Service ABS" and "Infl rest". We have been told these are not mechanical issues but sensor faults typical of the model. Any questions, please ask.
