Description of 1989 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 1500 |
Here is a nice, clean, unmolested 1989 Chevrolet Silverado Short Bed / Short Wide 4x4 pickup. One owner after serving as a dealer lease vehicle until he traded it in to the local Chevy dealer in December 2015. Title is still in his name. Truck has just under 172000 miles overall, which is low for a 27-year-old vehicle. The original 5.0 engine was just replaced with a good running 1990 TBI 5.7/350 engine. I had my ASE Master mechanic put in a new high volume oil pump, new rear main seal, and new gaskets on the engine while it was out. The truck runs and drives great. Has power steering, power brakes, tilt, cruise, cold AC, tow package. The truck also has working factory gauges. I will note that the oil pressure gauge reads high due to the high volume pump. Tires were recently replaced and have probably 75% or more tread left. Appears to be very original with original alloy wheels and a virgin, uncut dash despite there being no factory radio. The truck has some small dents and dings, but no major body damage. There is one small dent below the driver's side tail light that a previous owner attempted an amateur repair on with tape and spray paint. There is no rust to speak of as this is a nearly lifelong West Coast truck (since the early 1990s). That means no rusted out cab corners or rockers to replace. Appears to still have its original paint. There is some clearcoat peeling on the hood and the tops of the fenders. There are a few pieces of trim missing along the ceiling where a headliner would go. There is also a trim piece missing from the tailgate handle, but the tailgate is still functional. Overall this would be a great truck to start with to build a toy, or as a first truck for your high schooler. Please note that the truck has a clear Oregon title signed off by the original owner when he traded it in to the local Chevy dealer in the Salem, Oregon area in December of 2015. The Chevy dealer is listed as the buyer of the truck on the back of the title. You will receive the title as well as a bill of sale from me to you Deposit of $200 due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance due via bank check or wire transfer within 3 business days. There is a Youtube walk-around video available at the following link: https://youtu.be/3fw_UivkPLs Click here to go to the video. On May-20-16 at 08:17:15 PDT, seller added the following information: As noted in the description and as you can tell from the video, the engine in this truck runs well. On a cold start, however, I have found that for the first 2 or 3 minutes I need to give it gas or the idle will fluctuate up and down and want to stall. After just those couple minutes, it smooths out and idles fine just like in the video. |
