Vehicle Condition and more details

This car is an older frame off restoration done about 15 years ago. This car is finished in a ‘old school’ theme. It runs and drives much better than new due to numerous suspension and steering upgrades. This car that will get great attention at car shows or cruise in’s or wherever you go in it. It would also make a great weekend cruiser.

Cosmetics

Paint is very nice and done in the original color, with only a few minor chips. It has been touched up in a few very small areas. The body is very, very solid and straight with no rust. The floors are extremely nice with the original heavy undercoating. In some places the undercoat has flaked off revealing original red oxide paint. The frame was stripped and repainted, although the paint is flaking off in some places. The panels appear to be original with very nice fit. The trunk is very clean with no damage, being restored correctly, including the jack and tools, and spare.

The glass is all good and fitted correctly. The doors open and shut nicely. All the gaps are nice through out. There is lot of attention to detail on the car everywhere you look.

The bumpers, chrome and stainless are in good condition and are mostly the original pieces. There are a couple of dings in a piece or two. The other trim is in very good condition.

The interior is the original aqua color, with a tachometer and gauges, original style shifter, seat belts. Very nice headliner and trim. New armrests and chrome bases, new sill plates, etc. All gauges work correctly including the speedometer and cold/hot engine lights etc. The seats have been correctly done with high quality covers and new foam.

Mechanical

Engine runs great, no problems or funny noises. It has been recently serviced, The car has no smoking, no overheating. The cooling system has a BBC clutch fan along with thermostatic twin electric fans to keep that BBC cool. I don’t have the engine specifications but it does have roller rockers and a pretty nice sounding cam. Hooker headers with a newer mandrel bent 2 ½ inch stainless exhaust. If you know these Impalas, to correctly fit a 2 ½ inch system in the stock location requires a lot of work and good parts.

Transmission shifts smooth – and correct. I recently installed a complete new clutch system and linkage using Hays high performance parts.

Steering is straight and solid. I have installed a new CPP 500 steering box

The brakes are factory late model Power Disc type and work correctly

All fluids have been changed and are fresh.

The exhaust is factory style dual exhaust, magna flow mufflers and in excellent shape.

The rear springs are newer all rear bushings have been replaced and air bags installed to plant the rear end. I also installed a rear sway bar and an oversize front sway bar.

The rear wheels are widened to accommodate the drag radials.

Overview

This is a great example of a stock 62 Impala with great colors It will make someone a proud owner. It is not a Super Sport, nor is it meant to look like one. The car was sold new in Missouri. You won’t be able to wait to show it off. I receive compliments each and every time I take it out! It drives extremely nice, no rattles or noises. Very tight indeed!

I have many photos, so if you do not see the view you want, just ask. I will also have a videos available to provide even more detail and perspective. This car is a wonderful example of what these cars were in the day. It is a very nice driving muscle car. The car sounds great and draws a lot of attention whenever I drive it. I am sure I have forgotten something, so if you do not see what you want in the photos or description please ask. I desire the new owner to be completely comfortable with their decision. I will strive to answer as many questions I can about this car. I have owned this car for a few years.

I am the private owner of this car. The title is in my name and the car is presently registered in South Carolina. This is my hobby, not my business.
