Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza |
For Sale is a 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza. It has a clear title with 66069 miles. I am selling the car for a friend but did some recent mechanical work on it so am prepared to answer most questions. I will be as bluntly honest as I can so that you have all the info you need to make a decision. The engine is a typical Corvair 6 cylinder and the dual Rochester carbs have been recently rebuilt. At the same time. new plugs were installed. gas lines were cleaned and a new gas tank was installed. The engine starts and runs well. but does drip some oil and sometimes after sitting a while will burn some oil on startup. I believe the car to be underpowered. but that is my opinion of all non modified Corvairs. The Red paint looks very nice but has been repainted. The paint job is good but not excellent. The body is straight and mostly clean but there are some small areas near the rocker panels that look like bubbling paint (rust). No obvious holes but the beginning signs are there. These areas are small and could be easily addressed. The rest of the body is clean with a couple small scratches or dents at the corners. The White interior is in OK shape. The front buckets are both pretty clean with no tears or significant wear. The back seat however has several patched up tears and appears to have been painted over with white vinyl paint. Sun visors are ok but could stand to be replaced. Black carpet is clean and in above average shape. probably replaced at some point. Convertible top is white and in good shape. Rear window is somewhat foggy. Electric top works as it should. Original radio is gone but pretty much everything else on the car looks original. All in all. the car is a nice example of a running/driving Corvair and is priced accordingly. Thanks for looking. feel free to ask any other questions. |
