Description of 1945 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
Up for auction is a running, driving 1945 Chevrolet Pickup ½ ton. Yes! This is a 1945 half-ton pickup! There is a clear title that states 1945.The VIN # is BK437857This means that the truck was manufactured sometime around July of 1945 – according to the VIN #, that means the 43rdmonth of 1942 . . . very cool! Don’t let the rust fool you, this truck has been carefully gone through, and the fender and cab mounts have all been re-done at a local hot rod shop, which also did a frame swap onto an S10 frame. Here are some of the features of this pickup:350 Chevy V8 – runs well.Mild Cam – gives it a GREAT sounding idleAluminum Edelbrock Performer IntakePowerglide TransmissionNew dual exhaust with Thrush glass packsNew starter motorNew aluminum radiator with electric fanNew alternatorNew battery and battery cablesNew wiring harnessNew headers – Wrapped!New Mr. Gasket electric fuel pumpFuel tank was professionally boiled, cleaned and sealed at our local NAPA. I installed a new GM sending unit but have not yet hooked it up to a fuel gauge.Gloss Black Rally Wheels with Chrome Baby Moons.Holley carburetorNew Autolite plugsHEI DistributorTransmission coolerThe original heater is there.Way too much invested in the repairs, body swap, motor, trans, etc! The original speedometer is hooked up and works! The truck runs and drives smoothly. It is fun to have an old truck that is a real DRIVER. It is also much safer than stock – and it has POWER BRAKES, POWER STEERING, modern suspension, etc. This truck was built to be a regular driver while still maintaining the look of an original pickup. The door bottoms are very rusty. The grill is rusty. The running boards are rusty. I will not hide the fact that there is rust on this truck. We kept it that way. Like all old pickups, this truck has its issues. There are a few issues that do not affect how it drives, but the new owner may or may not want to fix: I don’t know the mileage on this truck. I have a six-mile commute, and I have never driven this truck any long distances. It would be great driving around town. This truck is being sold AS-IS, and is located close to Jerseyville, IL – about 45 minutes north of St. Louis. It is located at ZIP code 62052. PLEASE ask any and all questions before you bid.
