1969 Z28 X77 project. This car was born very rare code 10 tuxedo black. with standard black interior. This is one of the last 69 Z28s built produced in the last week of production, November 1969. It has the rare, and correct 6500 red line tach. This tach was only used the last couple weeks of production. This was also a factory cowl hood car, which is actually not common. Most cowl hoods have been added to 69 Zs and were never born with them. The trim tag and DZ block stamp were certified by camaro expert Jerry MacNeish as real and authentic. I cannot guarantee the block to be born to the car as the vin stamp by the oil filter is not legible. Real stamps in this rough cast area are usually hard to read, but this is impossible. I can guarantee that it is a real DZ stamp. The block assembly date is 2 weeks before the cars build date which is perfect. I also have the correct dated 186 2.02 heads that are rebuilt and ready to go. The block is standard bore and should be able to stay that way. The original BU stamped 3.73 rear is still under the car. I do not have the trans. The car was sold new in Pendleton IN and stayed in that area its whole life. Previous owner had it 25 years. It was repainted once to white. This car has all the typical midwestern rust. It will require a complete and total restoration. It will need, at least, full quarters, center trunk floor, both floor sides ( one piece floor would be best), outer wheel houses, pass side fender, new cowl hood, and the panel at the base of the windshield and possibly more. The car did not have a factory vinyl top which helped saved it. It didnt have a console, just tach and center fuel gauge. This is a complete project that will require total restoration, but worthwhile due to the rarity of the color and being a true Z28. Yes it has rust but I dont believe there are any 69 Z28 projects that dont require some metal work. All the rust free ones have been built. The car does roll and steer for shipping. I will be happy to show the car during the course of the auction. All zero feedback bidders must email first for approval before bidding. A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Buyer is responsible for transporting the car. I can store it up to 30 days free. Payment to be made in cash or wire transfer. Cashiers checks must clear my bank before anything leaves. Email or call 317sixsixseven624O. Thanks for looking On Jul-27-16 at 08:08:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Ive had about 75 questions asked about the car and most are concerning things that are already in the description. I ask that you please read the entire description. A little history on the car, as mentioned the gentleman I purchased it from had it over 25 years. He said he bought it from a mechanic at the dealership it was sold new at. The car hasn't left my area its entire life. The DZ block has been check for cracks and has a clean bill of health. Its standard and may clean up there but .30 at the worse. A very nice, real block. The right rear frame rail is rusty up by the front of the leaf spring. The right may need work as well. I have two frame rails I will give with the car. The rear actually reads CBU. The C is hard to see but there. This is correct and original to the car. As are the leaf springs. As far as condition, as I mentioned, just count on doing a complete, total restoration. The car is worthy of it. Yes it has rust but real code 10 black Zs don't come along often in ANY condition. I also have a 69 cortez silver with red interior RS Z to list. Really rough but areal deal car. Thanks for all the interest.
