Description of 1967 Chevrolet Nova Chevy II |
Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this 1967 Chevy II Nova custom resto-mod. Sorry Ford fans, but the second-generation Nova is everything Ford hoped the Falcon would be; stylish, fast and most of all - cool. From the beginning; Chevy's compact was embraced for its combination of timeless styling and the ability to put big horsepower in a lightweight package, and this 1967 hardtop is a fantastic example of how the Nova got it right. Restored and upgraded a few years back, this one still looks awesome, and the show quality paint looks simply remarkable. Cortez Silver and purple separated by custom pin striping always looks right on '60s muscle regardless of whether it's a Camaro or a Nova, and it happens to be the right color for this car. You can't paint a car this color and not back it up with some serious horse power under the hood. In the lightweight compact Nova, you don't need a massive chunk of cast iron to make for entertaining performance, and as a result; the 350 cubic inch Corvette-spec small block provides exhilarating acceleration while maintaining some pretty impressive street manners. It's topped by an Edelbrock intake and Holley 4-barrel carb, plus chrome valve covers and an open-element air cleaner for a little flash. The detailed motor looks tidy sitting there in the color-matched background, and gives it a highly detailed look. The TH350 is new and feeds a 10-bolt rear end. A recent dual exhaust system sounds great and the highly detailed undercarriage still shows quite well. The perfectly shaped sheet metal will never go out of style and there are no modifications to the bodywork, just the aftermarket cowl-induction hood was added, which any classic Chevy enthusiast will appreciate. The workmanship is very well done; letting the basic design speak for itself. All the trim was retained, which has been newly plated, polished, or replaced to give this Nova a bright new look. With the color scheme, the only smart choice is a charcoal grey interior which backs up the Nova's aggressive looks. Silver accents are reminiscent of the upgraded seats you'd see in similar muscle cars of this generation. The rear bench features factory-style upholstery, which looks completely unused and new. Base Nova’s didn't come stock with an upgraded gauge package, so this vehicle has been outfitted with a set of aftermarket auxiliary gauges mounted under the dash just adjacent to the aftermarket tach. There aren't many other deviations from stock, excluding a new grant steering wheel, AM/FM radio, and handsome custom built door panels to match. In back, the trunk offers a fresh coat of gray spatter paint for an ultra-clean look and includes a full-sized spare. So go ahead and drool; this ultra-clean Nova proves that good things definitely come in small packages. |
