Description of 1970 Chevrolet El Camino

Non original drive train. Has a 454, TKO600 5 speed manual overdrive transmission, & a 12 bolt posi with 4.10's. From factory came with a L34 396, TH400, and 12 bolt posi with 3.31’s. Was built on west coast and originally sold in Idaho, I purchased in 2001 from Idaho.Painted copper metallic in 1997. Since I’ve owned it the suspension was rebuilt with Global West and Edelbrock control arms, new stock GM spindles, Eibach springs, Edelbrock shocks, quick ratio power steering box from Year 1, drag link tie rod parts are GM. 12 bolt rebuilt with new Eaton posi, Richmond 4.10 gears, heavy duty Yukon axles. Hooker headers are Jet Hot ceramic coated black to contrast aluminum and chrome on motor. Edelbrock performer rpm top end, aluminum heads, manifold, carb, cam. Runs on pump gas, 93 octane. Measured compression is 10.4:1. Forged Wiseco pistons, stock cast crank and rods were ground and reconditioned, 4 bolt mains, block bored .030 over. Lakewood bellhousing. With overdrive trany and 4.10 rear, if driving freeway in 5th car turns 2350 rpm at 75 mph. First through third is steeper than any of the Muncie ratios:2.87, 1.89, 1.28, 1.0, .64O.D. Hi torque starter. Brakes are factory parts but new, disc front, drum rear, with exception of a hydraboost master cylinder which nearly doubles line pressure, brakes are phenominal. Factory 4 core copper radiator recored. Took to car show about a month ago, over 200 miles round trip, 95° day, car ran 195° - 205°F all the time, highway or sitting in traffic. Replaced factory 14” Super Sport wheels with 15” Wheel Vintique Super Sport Wheels, BFG P225/70-15 front, BFG P275/60-15 rear. Fronts basically new, rear drag radials have about half their life left. 5000 miles or less on entire drivetrain and suspension. Was a factory air condition car, air no longer on car(the underhood parts), but I have all original take off parts to go with car with exception of one ¼” aluminium line that was damaged when removed.
