Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvair

For auction is my 1966 Chevrolet CORVAIR CORSA. This is a mostly original factory turbo charged 50 year-old car. It is a very nicely optioned car built during the last year for the CORSA model option. In general it is a very nice driver and has been a car I have driven daily for the last seven years. The car has a very strong turbo engine, limited slip differential, and the tires and fuel tank are less than a year old. The brakes, suspension, and steering are all in good order. The car is very quick, and can reach 60mph in a very short time.

In general the body is in good shape with some rust bubbles at the lower windshield and rear quarter panels. To my best judgment; the paint is original on the front deck lid and nose, but appears to have been repainted on all side panels. Also, the interior upholstery is in excellent condition.

Note the mileage is original at 90,028 as of July 31, 2013.

The Car is equipped with the following Desirable Options:

Turbocharged Engine

Limited slip differential (3.89:1 ratio)

Headrest Bucket Seats

Remote Side-view mirror

CORSA Standard Hubcaps

Front and rear Seat-Belts

Two Spoke Steering Wheel

Known Issues:

Interior carpet has faded in the center and on the sides

Surface rust as mentioned in the description (see photos)

Rear main seal leaks (will leave a spot of about 1” diameter once parked)

Oil cooler / block seal leaks (will leave a spot of about 1” diameter once parked)

(Recommend a complete re-seal of the engine)

Exhaust leak (affects the boost / turbo performance), recommend replacement; muffler is okay

Transmission synchronizers are slow in down-shifting (50 year old transmission)
