This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is for a collector of a different caliber. We have plenty of cool muscle machines for sale, but this one is distinctive for being the car your father would have driven. Clean, stylish, and subtle power from the small block under the hood, this was the Sunday afternoon cruiser not the Saturday night bruiser.Ermine White is one of those great Chevy colors that adds sophistication, and of course, that's the factory-correct color for this classy convertible. You can tell this car has led a cared for life just by the way the panels line up and the full-length crease runs down the sheetmetal in an unbroken fashion. The thin wraparound chrome bumpers, rock panel trim, and bright windshield surround are found on other Camaros, but their condition on this droptop just seem to add to its sophistication. The same can be said for the folding white roof, which the coordinating color almost looks like a hardtop when it's in place. But let's face it, you're going to want to keep the roof down for as long as possible. After all, the rare red interior looks amazing against the white paint. Plus, this was the upgraded "custom" interior from the factory. That means a more intricate pattern on the bucket seats and door panels. This sea of red is completed by the carpeting, steering wheel, and dashboard. But there are plenty of sophisticated touches to break up the cherry appearance, including the shine of the Astro vents. Plus, there is a great wood paneling streak that runs from the center console and up onto the dash. This contains features like the upgraded AM/FM/cassette (a modern touch that doesn't look out of place in this classic,) and the iconic horseshoe shifter. The overall impression is a clean and pristine interior in a bold color that adds to this Camaro's distinction. In a car that has looked so factory-correct so far, it's great to see such a well represented engine bay. The 327 cubic-inch V8 is nicely presented with the original-style pie dish air cleaner, bright orange block, and tidy wires & hoses. But hidden underneath this correct look are some nice upgrades. For example, it's hard to spot the Holley four-barrel carburetor that gives this classic convertible an extra kick of power, or the TH-200R4 four-speed automatic transmission that has an overdrive gear for easy highway cruising. In fact, this one is really built to handle the road nicely with features like power steering, power brakes, and BF Goodrich Touring T/As mounted on those iconic Rally wheels.Complete with owner's manual and original warranty card, this is a different kind of Camaro that you don't see every day. More sophisticated than its race-ready brothers, it's the Camaro that looks great cruising and has been subtly upgraded to feel great doing it, too. Something this unique won't last long in our showroom. Call today!
