Description of 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Custom |
Selling at no reserve -The Chop, my Gorgeous Pro Street custom C-10. Highest quality build! Almost $50k spent on the build, everything is new or rebuilt and has under 1300 miles on it (may increase as I am still driving it). PLEASE bid to win and only if you can pay, these auctions cost MONEY and TIME. Please be considerate. For sale BY OWNER, not a re-seller or dealer. Registered and insured in my name. Connecticut does not issue separate titles for pre 1981 vehicles but the seller will get the Connecticut combined registration and title document and ALL 50 STATES are required to honor this document by FEDERAL LAW.This document is also sufficient for export to other countries. For those of you with a short attention span, see YouTube for a video titled 1972 C-10 xxxx. Others, read on.... Over 500 hours of labor spent on the 4" chop alone, this is not your average chop top. There are NO visible seams, doors look, open, and close like factory. New door handles and locks. The doors and the rest of the body were long blocked, painted, color sanded, clear coated, cut and buffed - hundreds of additional hours of labor. All glass is new and professionally cut and is so clear it's like it's not even there. Body is laser straight, paint is show quality. The color is Bordeaux Reserve Metallic, a beautiful deep burgundy. The camera picks up on a purple hue but it is definitely a red in person. a crate 454, backed with a new turbo 400 trans, and a narrowed 14 bolt rear. Runs perfectly. Starts easily hot or cold. Huge aluminum radiator keeps it cool in any weather. New true dual exhaust sounds awesome and it will spin those big 33's with the greatest of ease (only did it once, at $600 each you just can't...). All new accessories under the hood. Interior is new. Tilt steering, professionally installed high quality blue tooth stereo with remote and iPod input. Completely re-wired. No seat belts... I hate them.. Easy to install them if you want them. Excellent ventilation with the sunroof open - I was never a fan of them but it is now must for me in a pickup - none of the usual buffeting with the windows open. I am 6'3" and there is plenty of headroom for me so unless you are extremely tall there is no problem with the chop. Power steering is all new including steering box, power steering pump, bushings- it's smooth, easy, and precise. New bushings and shocks, drives like a dream. Disc brakes up front. Truck drives smooth and straight. New Weld aluminum wheels and brand new tires. Rears are 33" Mickey Thompsons (18" wide!) on 15" wide rims. ALL LIGHTS WORK, as does the horn, wipers. E brake not working. All of this built on a pristine rust free truck. This is NOT some cobbled up junkyard dog like most of them. Solid original floors, body, and frame. Feel free to contact me with questions if you feel you may be a buyer. Give me your phone number and I will call. Let's talk before you bid so we are on the same page. Please... No pen pals or picture collectors. Please keep in mind the cost of this build before you think you can build one for less.... 700 hours of bodywork, would be $17.5K at just $25/hour; $3K for wheels and tires; $10K on driveline; $9K for the clean truck the build is on; $3K on the interior; and much more. Go to the auctions and watch lesser trucks go into the $30K range. International bidders welcome. A few years back I sold a custom Corvette to Chris Z. in Sydney Austrailia. All went well and he and I have kept in touch and I am sure he would give me a good reference. I had the same paperwork for that car and they had no problem exporting it. I would not be selling but I recently bought a very expensive bucket list car so I need space. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. Inspections prior to end of auction are welcome. I would not hesitate to drive it across the country tomorrow, it has been fully debugged. I will work with your shipper and do everything I can to get it home to you safely. I look forward to finding a good home for The Chop. Sold as-is where-is. No warranty of any kind. |
