1956 Chevrolet Corvette. This car is an old hotrod / street car, that has had the same (second) owner for 50 years. The car was built in the 60's and has remained unchanged since. The car has a 1965 327/375HP Corvette Fuel Injected motor (block and heads) with aluminum high-rise, Holley carb, headers, 4 speed transmission, scatter shield and 4:56 posi-traction rear . The car starts, runs and drives nice and is wicked fast, it runs hot on 90 degree days but has never over heated. The frame is solid. Recently replaced exhaust, brakes and hoses etc. Tach, gauges, lights, horn, directionals and wipers work. Driver quality car that desperately needs paint. Please look at the pictures, the paint is very old, badly checked, cracked and peeling off. Interior appears to be original, old and worn, but useable as is, convertible top is useable but should be replaced. Please keep in mind this is an old, as found car that needs some work, it would be a great car to restore, but gets just as much attention at cruise nights as restored ones, it is one of the first newly designed Corvettes built in 1956 (515th built), original color was Cascade green (the rarest color available in '56) and was originally a dual quad, power glide car. Inspections are welcome and encouraged, I can be reached at 413 204-6179 if you prefer to speak in person. This car is sold as is, shipping is the buyersresponsibility. PLEASE NOTE: If the new owner is interested in restoring the car, I have the original early 265 engine andpower glide transmission that came out of the car, (correct FG block and heads) complete with the ultra rare two bolt exhaust manifolds, early oil pan, 9 fin valve covers, dual quads, air cleaners, dual point distributor, shielding, etc. that were removed by the previous owner decades ago. THESE ARE NOT PART OF THIS AUCTION, but can be purchased separately.
