Description of 1979 Chevrolet C-10 C10 Silverado Big 10 |
Up for auction is my daily driver 1979 Big 10 2WD short bed! I've done many things to this truck to make it run reliable and safe. No rust ANYWHERE! This is a solid truck with no rattles. As you can see the paint is old. It has one decent size dent behind the rear left wheel from a tire blow out several years ago. The rebuilt components and upgrades allow for this truck to handle and drive so good! All the smog equipment is still intact so it passes CA smog with no problems. The truck has air conditioning but it does not work. I'm assuming it needs freon. All A/C components are there. The truck has a front bench seat out of a 1992 Chevy truck. This allows for us tall guys to actually be comfortable while driving. The seat sits lower and it sits back further for a more comfortable seating position. New door panels and a dash cover. The truck has been dropped using a DJM drop kit. It has DJM lowered shocks, a flip kit, front drop spindles, and 2" drop coil springs. Below are a few details of some of the things that have been replaced. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things. The truck runs so good and it never gets hot. I can drive this truck in stop and go traffic on the 91 FWY in 100 degree weather and it won't overheat. The truck has dual gas tanks which both work. I've owned classic Chevelles, El Caminos, Impalas, etc, and I have never gotten some many thumbs up before! The details are: MILEAGE: 131,179 -350 engine, rebuilt but not sure the mileage (runs great and it doesn't burn any oil at all) -700r4 transmission, rebuilt and installed at 130,000 miles (has all the internal updrages, shift kit, corvette servo, 1 wire lock up) -12 bolt 3.40 gear ratio. Perfect for a 700r4 -New power steering pump at 129,000 miles -New alternator at 128,500 miles -New quick ratio steering box from Classic Performance products -New radiator at 129,200 miles -Rebuilt quadrajet carburetor -New Staggered 20 inch Boss Ridler rims. Rears are 20X10 with 295/40/20 tires, fronts are 20X8.5 with 255/40/20 tires. Rims and tires installed at 128,000 miles -New inner/ outer tie rod ends -New idler arms (the trucks steering is solid and tight) -New cluck fan.
