This cool 1975 roadster has a fantastic Corvette look that emphasizes everything that we love about Chevy's fantastic plastic sports car: curvy lines. great colors. lots of performance. two tops. and side pipes! Chevy called it Dark Red. which isn't very creative. but it is this car's original color. The finish is probably worlds better than original. and this roadster presents as a nicely finished '70s Corvette that neatly straddles the line between awesome original and slick custom. Fit and finish are quite good. probably better than new given how well the nose and tail fit. these roadsters are some of the best-looking Corvettes of all. Clearly this was a very nice car before the refinishing. as there are none of the usual signs of trouble in the fiberglass. and anything that needed attention got it during the makeover. plus the addition of a chin spoiler that transforms the overall look in a pretty big way. There isn't much chrome left on these cars after the bumpers were reworked. but details like the Corvette badges and crossed-flag emblems look crisp and bright. and there's just no avoiding the dramatic side pipes. a Corvette tradition dating back over a decade. The code 732 Oxblood leather interior appears to be entirely original. and it's in exceptionally good condition. The seat covers look amazing with only minor signs of use. and the carpets are likewise very well preserved. Once you're inside. you'll note that all the gauges are fully functional and the options list includes. power windows. a tilt/telescope wheel. and a rare unusual (and cool) rear defroster. For a convertible with a red interior. the color is remarkably good. since the sun tends to fade reds faster than most other colors. and it's just more evidence that this car has always been a cherished toy. For summertime cruising. it has also been upgraded with an AM/FM/CD stereo head unit in the dash. and the original A/C components are included with the car. although they have been removed if someone ever wanted to go back. The white convertible top is in excellent shape as well. and once you master the action. it can be stowed in seconds below the rear deck. This car also includes an optional color-matched hardtop. another VERY rare option on late C3 roadsters. The engine is the original. numbers-matching L48 350 cubic inch V8. Mostly stock with a few dress-up items like a chrome air cleaner and matching valve covers. it runs like the best small-block Chevys do. You'll find that the engine bay is highly detailed but still very functional. making this Corvette the ideal balance of show and go. There's correct Chevy Orange paint on the block and even in 1975. the ignition system was still protected by a chrome shield. and you just can't miss the big chrome side pipes that practically define the C3 Corvette. The TH400 3-speed automatic transmission was intended for heavy-duty use in the Corvette. although judging by the condition of the chassis. this one has never been abused. It's finished off by a set of custom polished aluminum wheels wearing 255/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials. The market is moving on these. and C3 Corvette roadsters are now not only great cars to own and drive. but icons that are finally getting the respect that they deserve.
