HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE & SS396 Oral History...by 1969 Chevelle had achieved sufficient marketplace success to be touted as “America’s most popular mid-size car”. Front vent windows were gone now, and gave a sweeping look to the car - especially when all windows were retracted. The SS396 became an available option for any two-door model and was no longer considered a separate series. In fact, without a factory build-sheet it is almost impossible to know with complete assurance whether a particular car was built with the SS396 option since it is not noted in the VIN or cowl tag for 1969 models. That said, the oral history of this car is that it was indeed built with the $347.60 SS396 option, but without a build sheet or other means to substantiate it, we don’t want to go further than reporting the oral history of a feature that generally cannot be proven with certainty. GENERAL OVERVIEW & DETAILS... quality and attention to detail is evident everywhere. The AC blows nice and cold. Lights, horn (operated by a button under the dash), wipers, windshield washers, and radio were all checked for the photo-session and all are operational. The car’s build quality is rock-solid and feels rock solid whether driving or riding. It is truly “Scary Fast”! The short-throw Tremec 5-speed is beautifully mated to the engine’s proven 459.6 HP. IMPORTANT IMAGE NOTES: To fully illustrate this amazing 1969 Chevelle, there are well over 100 images. The first 19 images are intended to give a quick overall presentation of the car from a variety of vantage points. Then, there are specific sets of images (for serious buyers) that show great detail in these areas: Documentation, Engine Compartment, Exterior, Interior, and Undercarriage. Seasoned collectors and enthusiasts know that to really "know" a car, a close-up look all around it is a MUST. To see ALL the images...you MUST place your cursor on an image - allow plenty of time for all images to download - and then scroll slowly ALL the way to the bottom. CAUTION: if you use the scroller to the FAR RIGHT of your screen or the "Click to view image album" feature...you will NOT see all the images. OVER 2,600 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! ABOUT ME: I am an avid car enthusiast. After retiring from 30 years of sales and marketing in a Global 100 company, I formed Murphy Endeavors, LLC and began buying and selling classic cars as a collector and for friends and clients. This impeccable Chevelle belongs to a friend and fellow classic car enthusiast. IMPORTANT FINAL REMARKS, CONDITIONS OF SALE, and VIN NUMBER DETAILS...the Buyer will receive a Notarized Bill of Sale and the original Georgia Title (as a 1969 Chevrolet 2-Door Malibu) Though this 1969 Chevy has been rebuilt/refinished/restored to extremely high standards - it remains a 47 year-old automobile. The need for repairs and maintenance with any vehicle is an ongoing activity - often required without notice. Therefore, this sale is strictly on an as-is and final basis with no warranties or liabilities expressed or implied. ODOMETER NOTE: The odometer reads 07312. Due to the design limitations of 5-digit mechanical odometers, the actual mileage of the vehicle – since new – cannot be determined but is also largely irrelevant due to the thoroughness of the restoration.. Every effort has been made to present this classic car completely and accurately to the best of our knowledge and resources, but errors and oversights are possible. Therefore, pre-purchase examination of the vehicle (if desired) is welcomed before the listing's end and can be easily arranged by appointment. QUESTIONS?
