Description of 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS |
This is my personal Monte Carlo SS and it is a REAL SS with "G" in the vin# and on the title as it should have. I bought it about 3 yrs ago and did the full restoration myself, with the help of a few friends that are highly skilled in restorations/repairs. It has a SBC 350 with less than 1000 miles since the full rebuild---1.5 roller rockers, new springs, new harmonic balancer, new Edelbrock intake, new MSD wires, distributorand plugs, new belts, new long tube Cerakoted headers, new CAM that has a nice lopey idle, Edelbrock carb is new too, the exhaust is an X pipe and has true duals all the way back and brand new and coated all the way back with Cerakote from the headers to the new Super 44 Flowmaster mufflers, 4 speed 2004R tranny, 20" IROCS on like new Nitto 555 tires, the suspension has been redone with new bushings, shocks, lowering coils, tie bar and sway bar bushings replaced too. The rear end was updated to the 87-88 bumper with the updated tail lights too. The T-Tops are in excellent condition, the paint is 7 months old and done very well, the headlight harness was redone and the headlights are brand new as well. The 2" cowl hood is steel. The interior is black leather, new door pulls. I have the a/c compressor and everything needed to hook it up, never used it so not sure if it just needs a charge, but will give it to the buyer. THE CAR IS IN SUPER SHAPE!!! no excuses on this one at all. The car has a CLEAN CA title and is in my name alone and ready to go. On Sep-08-16 at 09:51:51 PDT, seller added the following information: Answer to some questions I've received: The car has power windows and locks---I replaced the lower door panels with new ones that did not have the power lock cutout--the chrome holder and switch is connected and tucked inside the panel. I did not want power locks to show because it was too easy to coat hanger the car and get in and when you unlock you unlock both side,. If you want to pull the switch out it's inside and works perfectly..just cut the lower panel and push it in. It has tilt wheel, 60/40 bench seats and is a posi rear end with 3.73 gears with Amsoil in it. ALL fluids are new...power steering, tranny, engine oil and radiator, new pads and rotors in the front with the full overhaul on the front.
I have brand new uninstalled Moog rear cargo coils and shocks for the car that I will give the new owner as well. They will lower the rear .5-1" and firm it up a bit so you can carry 4 adults without any dipping in the rear..the rear is super easy to do. the front is completely done. The ONLY reason I am selling this car is because I bought a Corvette and need my garage back. It was NEVER my intention to sell this car. I wanted this car since I was in high school and they were 1st introduced. I will not disclose the reserve this early in the auction, but feel free to email me offers. I may accept and will probably be more inclined to disclose it as the auction gets closer to it's end. On Sep-08-16 at 18:50:28 PDT, seller added the following information: I received an email about my previous response....the gear is stripped in the power driver seat..it makes a clicking sound and doesn't move the seat much. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the motor or tranny in this car...the ONLY thing stripped is the tiny plastic gear that controls the power drivers seat |
