Description of 1960 Chevrolet Impala |
Before I begin, I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at 1-517-990-2646 with any questions or concerns. This auction is for a 1960 Chevrolet Impala 2-door Sport coupe, beautifully restored. I apologize in advance for the long winded story but this car deserves it. 1960 is said by some to be the best year, for the second time in as many years, Chevrolet again came up with a totally new car. From the front or rear the 1960 Chevrolets resembled nothing else on the road. The '60 Chevy was a car that had Harley Earlfinger prints all over it, retiring a few years earlier in 1958 after designing the '59, and his flamboyant style was very evident. It’s in great condition throughout! All the mechanics work properly, looks great and is fun to drive! This very rare 60 Impala 2 door hard top is in nice original condition everywhere you look with the original color Ermine White with black and white hounds tooth interior this car is stunning. This car has less than 100 miles since the restoration. This car is a rare find. The 283ci 2 bbl engine is original and has been rebuilt, as is all the other drive line items, the car was completely restored with all original sheet metal and most all other components also, the lower quarter panel has had a patch installed, the paint looks very nice and laser straight and very nice with very few flaws, every piece of chrome and stainless is very nice, and is either new or re-chromed or buffed. Turn over the rebuilt 283 V-8 engine and quite rumble from the newer dual exhausts hits a sweet tune. Driving it, you will appreciate the ride and handling characteristics. The rebuilt optional 2-speed power glide auto transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes stop the car quickly and securely. It’s is a blast to drive! The body is in very nice condition. The metal is clean and straight. I have over 60 pictures of the car. All the glass is new, with no chips, cracks or scratches all the window frames have been rechromed. The 4 original style wide white bias-ply tires are new with deluxe spinner hub caps, all the jack assembly is all there, jack instructions there with the trunk mat. The car comes with the original style fender skirts also restored. The underside is very solid, and has been completely detailed and looks very nice. The engine bay and trunk have been detailed also and look very nice. Overall this is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of American history of the automobile industry, a real icon, how many ‘60 Impala’s do you see at your local or national events across the country? This car has never been in any shows it has never been judged in a local or national event and should do very well. I welcome overseas buyers please feel free to call me at 517-990-2646. Thanks and happy bidding.
