Description of 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS Tribute

Just your basic 1968 Camaro SS tribute in Hugger Orange? Guess again! With a stout 468 cubic inch V8 under the hood, a classic interior, and great attention to detail, this car is anything but ordinary. And quite honestly, if you're going to be this fast, it's probably better to wear a bright color just to let everyone know to give you a wide berth. You already know that Hugger Orange is a double-edged sword: nothing looks better but at the same time, nothing advertises big horsepower more loudly. Originally code O Corvette Bronze, the transition was relatively easy because it's not too far off from Hugger Orange, but things like the gaps, the cowl-induction hood, and the overall look took some work. It's not perfect, mostly because it was finished a few years ago and it was hard to resist heading out on the open road, but it does look impressive hammering down the road. Black SS stripes were painted on top, and most of the emblems were shaved, save for an SS on the nose and one on the gas cap, just to make it look right. The tail panel was blacked out as on the 396 cars, but as you'll see, this one does it one better than that. A bowtie emblem does even more advertising on the rear window, but that's easy to remove if it isn't your thing. The handsome black interior is the ideal choice for this Hugger Orange bruiser. When it was restored a few years ago, it got new seat covers, door panels, carpets, and a fresh headliner all of which give it a neat, tidy look inside. Many feel that the 1968 buckets are the best of the early Camaros, combining an upscale pattern with the low-back bucket look that defined performance in the '60s. The factory instruments are probably original and still in good shape, assisted by a trick quartet of auxiliary gauges down on the console in the factory tradition. A beautiful wood-rimmed wheel adds some warmth to the interior, yet looks like it was born there, and there's a trick shifter for the TH400 3-speed manual transmission. Even the entertainment has been upgraded with a hidden AM/FM/CD system. The trunk also features a correct mat and remote-mounted battery to help with weight distribution (and to make room for the big block up front).Technically, I suppose you could call the engine under the hood a 454, but it's been punched out to 468 cubes to give it massive torque and effortless performance. Wearing Chevy Orange, the potent big block inhales through an aluminum intake manifold and a big Holley 4-barrel carburetor and exhales through a set of long-tube headers and a pair of Flowmasters. There's just enough chrome and polished aluminum on the engine to make a statement, and it's extremely clean showing careful attention to the build quality and excellent maintenance ever since. Out back there's a reinforced 12-bolt with traction bars, as well as a set of subframe connectors so you don't have to worry about having some muscle car fun in this one. Handsome 18-inch wheels really stuff the wheel wells with their 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear Nitto performance radials.A lot of Camaro with a ton of performance, all at a very reasonable price. Cars like this are a lot of fun to own, and they'll hold their value better than almost anything else on earth. Call today!
