A complete custom build with a 450+hp V8 wrapped in a coordinated slick black package should never be this affordable. But the price on this 1973 Chevrolet Nova SS is real, and the all-out performance it brings to the streets is, too! It's obvious from the moment you lay eyes on this coupe that it's no ordinary Nova. The glossy black paint looks like the color of midnight. But the overall package is a much brighter affair. The red Super Sport stripes have a metallic sheen that will attract a crowd from across the show field. And if that doesn't catch them, the mirror-like chrome bumpers will. Add in the 4-inch power dome hood, blood red badging, and 17-inch Boss wheels, and this the kind of aggression you want in a classic custom muscle car. Backing up this intimidating appearance is the knowledge that the Nova is one of the best cars for the street or dragstrip, because they are the perfect combination of a compact/lightweight coupe that was built with the same stout parts as Chevy's other larger muscle cars. The interior is every bit as nicely finished as the exterior with high back bucket seats, custom center console w/cup holders, and custom door panels. Upgrades like the AM/FM/CD stereo with a USB input make this comfortable for all five occupants, but this Nova is clearly a driver's car. The grippy three-spoke steering wheel has red stitching to match the exterior color scheme, and your right hand will love rowing through the iconic Hurst shifter. You know there's something special in the engine bay just by looking at the array of auxiliary gauges, especially the dash-mounted Xtune tachometer with shift light. Before opening the hood, you may want to put on your sunglasses. The chrome and bright red that were the accessory colors on the exterior now take center stage in the engine bay. The ultra clean wire and hose setup ensures everyone gets a good look at this 383 cubic-inch stroker motor. Beyond just looking great with the fined air filter and matching valve covers, it was specially built to run with the big boys. The four-bolt main block has been fortified and enhanced with goodies such as a 4340 steel nitrided induction hardened crankshaft, forged piston, forged I-beam connecting rods, World Product head, full Comp Cams package (cam, pushrods, and rockers), compression upped to 10.18:1, single plane intake, and Holley 750 four-barrel carburetor. There's so much more to this V8, so call for all the details, but just know the Nova is rated at 457 hp/485 ft-lb. And the Hedman long tube headers and Flowmaster dual exhaust will let everyone hear the roar of this superior power. You have complete control over the sound and fury of the big V8 thanks to the four-speed manual. It feeds the stout 10-bold rear end with Positraction and a 3.73 ratio for power takeoffs. Up front the independent suspension and power steering makes this a great driver, and in the rear, the enhanced suspension with traction bars gets the power to the streets. Finish it all off with four-wheel disc brakes and modern performance tires, and you've got a classic that will outrun more modern machines. This custom build was completed in 2014 and at a cost around $35K. So we can easily tell you this is the Nova you always wanted for far less then it would be for you to do it yourself. But you're not the only one who recognizes a terrific deal, so hurry up and call today!
