Description of 1947 Chevrolet Other Pickups |
1947 Chevrolet 3600 series ¾ ton pickup. Runs and drives well. All ORIGINAL green paint with factory ivory pin striping on the cab beltline and grill. Old farm truck showing its age with some dents, dings, and scratches, but has had many mechanical repairs to make it road worthy. Some of the NEW parts include all 4 tires, brakes, brake lines, clutch, pressure plate, some suspension parts, tune-up components (see below), 6 volt battery, ALL NEW GLASS with new rubber seals and felt all around. The hood opens and closes nice. All of the original emblemsintact. Lights, signals, heat, gauges all work other than the speedometer (no cable). The horn works and it has seat belts. Doors open and close very nice (new catches and rubber bumpers). The door hinges have been rebuilt with new bushings and pins. Both doors are very solid at the bottom and still have the factory drain holes. Windows roll up and down smoothly. New headliner. The cab corners have a little rust through along with both kick panel areas of the front floor. These have been patched with steel by a previous owner. Fenders have dents, dings, and some rust. There is a crease in the passenger cowl area.Factory original 8 lug wheels were blasted and painted black with matching factory hub caps. The frame is very solid and straight. ENGINE:Original 216, 6 cylinder engine. Starts easily and runs well but has not been overhauled that I can tell. It has a hint of smoke at first but clears up quickly. NEW: points, plug wires, plugs, condenser, coil, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel lines, water pump, fan belt and radiator hoses. The carburetor was purchased completely rebuilt from Jim Carter Truck Parts.
TRANSMISSION: Original floor shift 3 speed transmission. Fresh fluids, shifts well. No issues. No whining in the transmission or rear end. COULD USE: speedometer cable, emergency brake cable (included but not installed), and exhaust manifold gasket (included with truck) - It has a tiny leak at the head but not noisy or loud. The front endhas a vibration at certain speeds. This truck drives down the road fairly well for a stock 69 year old truck but is not fast by any means. Clear Wisconsin title (with matching VIN tag). Very reasonable reserve.Just purchased another project so I need the space. There is no warranty with this truck. It is sold as is. See pictures and ask questions before bidding.
