Description of 1941 Chevrolet Other Pickups AK 3/4 Ton City Delivery Truck |
1941 Chevrolet Tanker Description 1941 Chevrolet Model AK 3/4 Ton City Delivery Truck Previous owner used truck for more than 10 years! 216 CID inline six-cylinder engine Three-speed manual transmission Completed in Shell Oil Company’s red and yellow livery Bench seat Dual sideview mirrors Single windshield wiper Newer tailpipes Updated steel wheels Includes various jerrycansLooking for a tanker with flair to feed your fleet of rolling stock? Your search is over here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars with this 1941 Chevrolet Model AK 3/4 Ton City Delivery Truck. With its beautiful Shell Oil Company red and yellow livery, this truck is already decorated to fill the tanker role but it is not just a looker, this truck is outfitted for the role, too. Besides the main tank, there are various jerrycans near and under the main tank when smaller volumes of fuel are needed. Its previous owner used the truck for more than 10 years! Its paint is very good shape and shines brilliantly in the sunlight though there are some blemishes on the right front fender. The truck’s glass panels are intact and haze-free. Its lights are clear and crack-free. Rolling on Summit radial tires, 215/75R15 in front and 255/70R15 in back, the tires surround newer aftermarket red and black steel wheels with red center caps. A newer pair of tailpipes peek out from under the chassis. All of the body panels are straight, even the runningboards, and the front bumper is in fine condition. The engine bay is very tidy and under the hood is a 216 CID inline six-cylinder engine, hooked to a three-speed manual transmission. This engine had a 3.500” bore and a 3.750” stroke. A four-bearing crankshaft was added, along with 6.5:1 compression pistons, for 85 horsepower. A new cylinder head in 1941 increased output to 90 horsepower. Inside, the truck’s gray bench seat is in very good condition, with its contrasting black carpet in good shape, as is the headliner, silver metal dashboard and three-spoke steering wheel with aftermarket rim wrap. The bare metal silver door panels add to the truck’s utilitarian nature. Due to the potentially hazardous nature of the truck’s cargo, an on-board fire extinguisher is required. Good mirror glass in the dual sideview mirrors, a heater on the passenger side and the floor shift lever round out this interior as the truck is a radio-delete example. The AK Series truck was sold beginning in 1941 until 1947. It used the GM A platform, shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. The AK series represented an appearance split from previous Chevrolet products where the passenger cars and pickup trucks shared a common appearance, as demonstrated in the Chevrolet Master truck. The Chevrolet Deluxe was an all-new appearance when it was introduced in 1941 and shared much of its mechanicals with the third generation Chevrolet Suburban. This car is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 76,722 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
