This is a 1984 Chevrolet Silverado Short Bed that was purchased originally in Texas and other than a brief period in Oklahoma it has spent its entire 32 years here. What that means to the buyer is a vehicle with ZERO rust and ZERO rust repair. The underneath of this vehicle is in the same condition as the rest but has never been painted, etc. Essentially, this truck has had two owners who babied the vehicle for 30 plus years of its life. In my 58 years of owning classic vehicles I have never seen one that is in this kind of shape. That is not "sales hype." The paint is original but I had it professionally touched up to remove marks from a topper on the upper edge of the box, the top of the tailgate, which had numerous scratches, and some high spots on the hood that were damaged by repeated buffing. I also replaced, with OEM style 3M brand chrome vinyl striping, the chrome stripe around the exterior of the truck. The interior is unaltered and even sports its original floor mats. There are no rips, stains or dethreading anywhere in the upholstery. In the video I show behind the seat and inside the glove box and one will be amazed at the babied condition of this truck. Included is the original owner's manual and some other paperwork documenting its history. There will be some instructions for how to open the video links at the end of this ad and I encourage all interested parties to watch them.
The Silverado edition was Chevrolet's top of the line and it came with a tilting steering column, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power brakes, an AM/FM with cassette (functions like new), AC which blows ice cold (new compressor and condenser converted professionally to R134), all gauges, temp., amp., oil pressure, and clock and everything works which I demonstrate in the video. It came with cruise control and though the switch on the blinker column is still intact the mechanism under the hood has been removed. This can be easily replaced. In summary the interior and the exterior are the same as when it rolled off the assembly line. The 'appearance alterations are these. The previous owner, at the time that he rebuilt the 350 engine with a 268H competition cam (very mild lope) and other internal upgrades, also installed a DJM 5/5 lowering kit which included new control arms, new coil springs, flip kit, and new shocks. Just recently he purchased and installed 20" x 10" and 20" x 8.5" Coy wheels and Toyo low profile tires. I have three of the original Chevy wheels with almost new BF Goodrich tires that go with the truck. I also have the original control arms, the original radiator with no leaks, etc. These Coy wheels and tires are in NEW condition with zero blemishes. The final touch to the 'appearance' is tinted windows which have no blemishes. Not a blister or a scratch or scuff. The windshield has no windshield wiper scuffs and no rock chips.
Under the hood is a 350 with approximately 1600 miles on the rebuild. It has a new Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, a fuel pressure regulator, long tube headers and new exhaust tubes and series 50 Flowmaster mufflers. The radiator was also replaced with a four core that keeps this truck running cool in the hottest weather even with the AC on. This exhaust set up gives it a mild rumble without sounding like some overly loud hot rod. The engine is mated to a turbo 350 transmission. All of the alterations were made with adult WISDOM. This truck runs so well it acts like it is fuel injected. Lightly bump the gas, turn the key and it fires up instantly. It has disc brakes on the front and drums on the rear and they were just redone. The rotor on front doesn't even have the start of a ridge from wear. It comes with the original jack that is behind the seat rather than mounted on the passenger side wheel well under the hood. The bed still wears its untouched original paint with minor paint blemishes and two small dings in one wheel well right next to each other. With a $90.00 quart of paint and minor body work on the wheel well it could be easily made to look like new or install a bed liner.
This is a fly in and take a fun road trip home classic. I will pick you up at the airport in Dallas and do everything within reason to make this a fun, fun moment as you take possession of a vehicle that is in car show condition substantially below its collector value. If you want to make an offer before the reserve is met call me at 817 403-7723. I have no problems with zero feedback bidders but you must call me before bidding or I will cancel your bid. I will also make the truck available for test drives or inspection prior to the conclusion of the auction.
I am 58 and understand being technology challenged and, so, here are some instructions for how to open the YouTube link. Place your cursor, the arrow created and moved by your mouse, at the end of the link and left click and hold down the mouse button while you drag the cursor over the type. The type will then be highlighted by blue. Right click on the blue and options will appear for viewing. Select "Go to address in new window" and left click on it and the YouTube video will open and play. I made the video to provide the majority of the information on the truck. One can watch the video and pause them on any frame and see details of the truck from numerous angles.
