Description of 1969 Chevrolet Camaro X44 |
1969 Camaro X44 Factory Cortez SilverThis Camaro has a 383 stroker engine which was built for a circle track car. it has 10. 5 - 1 compression. thumper cam and edelbrock air gap intake. Currently around 400 hp with a 600cfm carb and mildly worked stock cast heads. A 750cfm carb and a set of aluminum AFR heads and this thing would near 500hp. Originally a manual on the floor. the engine is backed with a new clutch and fresh M20 4 speed. Correct Hurst style shifter takes you through the gears smooth as silk. The rear is a 10 bolt Auburn posi with 3. 73 gearing and traction bars Front suspension rebuild with a fresh alignment. Car does have power disc brakes which look factory but manual steering(no hp loss). Engine/Clutch/Trans/Rear End has less that 600 milesNow to the bodyPaint shines well and is probably a 7 of 10 driver quality. The panels line up well and rear quarters have been replaced at some point. Trunk is super solid. The floors are good except for the driver partial pan needs replaced. Also the driver rocker has been replaced but needs finished and the driver door appears to have filler in the lower part of the door. Overall the car is super nice and the mechanical work I have done or had done professionally. The body work that it needs to be near perfect is very minimal. I am just a perfectionist. The price on the car is very reasonable. you don't find many Cortez Silver 4 speed cars. |
