Description of 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary |
This 78 25th Silver Anniversry Corvette is being offered at an unbelievably low starting price. Other Vette's in this condition are going for over $20k+. Seriously, I am loosing so much money in this and will not/cannot lower the price anymore. If you have ever tried to restore these Corvettes, you know how expensive it can be. Runs and looks perfect! Must sell! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Up for sale is a restored 1978 Corvette 25th Anniversary Silver edition that has the L-48 engine, automatic transmission, with only 44,500 miles and the oyster leather interior. No rust. Very clean undercarriage. No smoke, bogs, alignment issues, or electrical! The GM Dash clock even still works!! This Vette looks and drives like it is brand new! The paint, decal job, and condition of the interior on this Vette is gorgeous! This 1978 Corvette SA is equipped with desirable and rare options that include power steering, power brakes, factory alarm, A/C (Already converted to R134) which blows ice cold air, heater, power windows, tilt-telescopic steering column, and factory seat belts. This Vette was purchased from the 2nd owner(70yr old lady) that comes with the original manual and other documents (see picture). Since the Vette had been sitting for so long (garage kept), and seemed to have a burn valve, I took the long and expensive route of ensuring the engine was brought back to its peak performance by doing the below work: Engine Work: -Heads cleaned, polished, resurfaced. -4 new valves (the rest cleaned and polished) -New timing chain and sprockets -New valve springs (16) -New hydraulic lifts (16) -New push rods (16) -New/Cleaned rockers (16) -New comp mild camshaft (upping the original horsepower) -New Vacuum lines -Corvette High Performance aluminum radiator -New Vacuum hoses -Manifold, valve covers, heads, engine block, water pump, all sandblasted and repainted in the correct GM Corporate Blue. -Quadrajet Carburetor rebuilt -VR1 Racing "Zinc" Oil. Along with the engine work, the interior was professionally cleaned, the new Silver Edition decals were purchased and professionally installed to replace the worn original ones (Just the decals alone were $330 (+ the cost to get them installed), front bumper repainted to fix rock chips, a new car battery(w/5yr warranty), new fuel lines, exact L48 2" 1/4 "Y" pipe and mufflers installed, and gas shocks replaced. The Vette comes with a newly install CD player and has two sets of T-Tops (one set is tinted and one set is exterior "silver" color with carrying bags). The rims are in great condition and come with brand new Radial R/T RWL tires with 100% tread. This Vette has the best color combo, for one of the best Stingray years, with low miles, and all the work done! These Corvettes are increasing in value everyday! Only 15,283 produced. Only issues with the car: not the original radio (should be the 8 track radio as the glovebox has the cassette tape holder), like 2 or 3 tiny cracks in the interior dash pad, and maybe 1 or 2 rock chips on a fender or something. Headlights come up, but slowly, was told there might be a small leak in one of the lines.... But, that is it! ****The Corvette is being sold locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any point. I am open to ending the auction early, so please message me. Comes with a clean Virginia title! You are welcome to come out and see the Corvette! Please call or email with any questions! *Why Pay $20,000+ for one of these when you can have this exact restored one for almost half the price?!?!? --->A $500 deposit is required immediately after auction and the full amount is due no later then 7 days after that. Non-committal buyers will be reported! --->No deposit will be refunded if you decide not to go through with the deal after winning the auction. Please make sure you have the funds and intentions to purchase this vehicle before bidding. Thank you! ---> United States sells are preferred, but I an willing to sell to the car to an "out of the country" bidder, as long as the bidder "pays in full" before the car is shipped and understands the process of exporting/importing of a vehicle. The fees and taxes are expensive! Just be sure you know what you are getting into. Happy Bidding!!
