Description of 1955 Chevrolet Suburban |
I bought this 1955 Carryall suburban a little over 10 years ago with the dreams of restoring it and using it as a promotional vehicle for my own company (also still a dream). Since then I have had many life changes / struggles and have come to terms with selling so someone can enjoy it. This is probably one of the most solid virtually untouched 1955 Chevrolet Carryall Suburban you will find. I would call it a survivor but sometime during its life there has been some strange painting on it and also the engine compartment has beenemptied and stored in the cargo area of the truck. When taking these pictures I tried very hard to find a spot where I could put even a finger through rust. I pushed as hard as I could in all the normal areas. Bottom of doors, running boards, wheel wells, floor boards, fenders at headlamps, etc. I couldn't get any movement. The suburban still has plates on it and I have to assume that is the last time it was plated. They are Texas plates from 1974. I bought the vehicle from a guy in Oklahoma that had it stored in a barn. Since being in Illinois it has been stored in the garage except for a short period when the garage was being rebuilt. The new garage was going to be a great place to work on it with heated floors and 14' ceiling so I had room to install a lift. Anyway I digress. As you can see in the picture it does come with hard to find 3 rows of seats and has a radio. If I could role back the clocks 10 years I would have put the drive back together and fix whatever needed to be fixed to get it running, fixed the glass, new brakes, and new tires so I could drive it. Again I digress and unfortunatelyI don't have the time machine to make that happen. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. I will only deal with people in the United States. $500.00 is due via cash or electronic transfer (I think everyone has the ability to do this through their bank website or cell phone these days) within 48 hours of auction ending. Sorry I will not do PayPa, cashier check, or anything else. Cash payment or electronic transfers in full prior or at time of pick-up within 14 days. Sorry for being so tough on this. I had another car I was selling on eBay. The winning bidder was from Italy and turned out being a major scam. Luckily I never gave up the car or title. I have enjoyed looking at the truck, pushing it around, and dreaming about driving it. I hope someone can live my dream. I do have a clear "original" Illinois title for the vehicle. |
