Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Belair |
This is an unbelievable find an all original untouched survivor in Tropical Turquoise with a white top. The 1957 Belair 4 door Post was order with the rare Power Pack High Compression upgrade engine with 220 bhp 9.5.1 compression 4 barrel carburetor and with factory dual exhaust, very rare for a 4dr sedan, how many were actually order that way, i am sure it was in small numbers as most of the 4dr were 2 barrel cars. The 57 Belair was stored for some 36 years with only 55k miles. The stories goes this 57 Belair was built at the Oakland Plant in California and delivered new to Nevada and sold to its first owner. He purchase the Belair for the wife and when she passed away years later the car was sold to its second owner with 38k miles whom was from California, The Belair was registerd with California both front and rear blue plates which is still on the Belair, he enjoyed the 57 until he decided to sale the belair with 55k miles, put and ad in the local newspaper ad for $2k, the third owner purchase the car for the agreed asking price, then the belair was never driven again and put away in 1979. Obviously it was not running, but it was in incredible condition being stored out of the element, so it is completely rust free. I have all of the paperwork letter from when the car was purchase with documented miles, original owners Manuel, receipt for the asking price of $2k, and the posted ad from the 70,s. Here is what was done to make the car run again. The belair was not detail, as you will see in the pictures, if the next owner want to do a complete detail, that is up to him, i decided to not touch the outside and the interior, but did clean the bumpers, and there are in immaculate conditions. It currently as 15/6 rally wheels, i do have the original 14 inch wheels with the original hubcaps. One thing i forgot to mention, the original owner built or ad someone built an extra gas thank which is in the trunk as you will see. This 57 Belair was order with the rare 283 Power Pack which consist of higher compression engine,9.5.1, which puts 220 BHP and 300 ft pound of torque at 3000 rpm and also as factory dual exhaust. The Belair now runs, drives, stops at it should, and all interior gauges functions, including the original radio works. Also the exterior lights, turning indicators, brakes lights and reverse lights function and operate as they should. Also the exterior stainless trim is as new, no dents. There is some surfaces rust on the top of the trunk, front left fender as you will see in the pictures, but it is all surface rust. Also there is a small dent on the left front lower fender by the driver side front wheel. All glass is original and in excellent conditions. The original spare wheel tire is in the trunk, also the current tires will probably need to be replace. All new brakes and wheel cylinders and master brakes.Complete tune up, plugs, points, condenser, rotor, and cap.New water pump, thermostat, upper and lower hoses, and new coolant.Radiator was rebuilt, with new core.New gas thank.Oil change and filter 10/30 full synthetic.Transmission was service with all new fluids. Vehicle is SOLD as is where is, no warranty written or implied. $2000 deposits with 24hrs, balance with in 7 days or less.
