Description of 1964 Chevrolet El Camino |
This is a very nice El Camino that was manufactured at the Los Angeles (Van Nuys. CA) assembly plant and has California ownership history. This is the deluxe trim. "Custom Cab". with body. interior and engine compartment appearing stock. It has factory power steering (rebuilt). Aftermarket Enkei wheels are installed although I have the original deluxe full hubcaps which will be included. The title and registration is current and in my name. I am a senior. non-smoking owner. This truck has been used only for pleasure. not for hauling. not abused and always garaged. VIN: 45680L138153 BODY & PAINT: The body is straight with excellent alignment of doors. hood and tailgate. No dents or door dings. It has a high quality. two stage. nbsp;repaint in the correct original Ember Red and has a smooth high gloss finish. All trim was removed prior to paint with window channel felts and rubber seals replaced during the process. The window mechanisms were lubricated and work smooth and easy. Chrome bumpers. tailgate hinges and emblems are excellent - brilliant and no pitting. The stainless trim around the rear window and top of the bed is very nice and shiny but not show-quality polished. The inside of the bed is excellent. nbsp;no dents or gouges. No dents or dings in the tailgate and it opens and closes smoothly. Underneath the vehicle is nice but it has not been detailed. see pictures. The entire dual exhaust from the exhaust manifolds to the chrome tips have been recently replaced. including "Flowmaster" mufflers. The suspension is tight and it rides. handles. steers and stops excellent. The drum brakes stop the vehicle easily. no side pulling and light pedal pressure makes power assist unnecessary. INTERIOR: The padded dash is original and looks great. no splits or fading (see pictures). The upholstery on the seat and door panels is excellent in the original red vinyl factory pattern and color. The carpet has been replaced with the original type and color. ENGINE is stock 327 C. I with the original 4 barrel carburetor. intake manifold and air cleaner. It is in excellent condition. idles smoothly and runs strong. TRANSMISSION is Powerglide automatic. It shifts perfectly and smoothly. DIFFERENTIAL is Positraction with a 3:08 - 1 ratio which is nice for freeway driving and gas mileage. The differential has been drained. cleaned and refilled with the correct oil and GM Positraction additive. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: All lights. turn signals. parking brake. horn. and original seat belts work properly. The speedometer checked with GPS and is accurate to 50 mph and 2 mph slow from 55 to 70. Odometer is the current reading. The wheels are vintage "Enkei" (the good ones with the steel inserts at the mounting holes). Tires are size 205/60R-15 with lots of tread. The original factory AM radio is not hooked-up. An aftermarket "Sanyo" AM-FM Stereo cassette is mounted under the dash with "Sanyo" speakers sitting on the carpet behind the seat. Speakers are not fastened down so no holes are in the carpet. Tachometer needs service. The 2-speed electric windshield wipers need a new switch for the dash.
