Description of 1970 Chevrolet Camaro |
Lusso Fine Motorcars is pleased to present this beautiful 1 of 1 Custom 1970 Camaro SS featured in Gunmetal Metallic. The masterpiece project took the combination of some of the best builders in the industry, 5 years and over $300k to build and the result is jaw dropping. Exterior- The body started off as a true 1970 SS and with the help of Heath Elmer Restorations from Mesa, AZ, received the royal frame off Restoration. To stiffen the chassis, a full integrated roll cage was installed that connects all 4 corners of the car. On the outside, the doors have subtle C5 Corvette door handles and all the lights frenched into the body. Lightweight Anvil carbon-fiber body panels replace the heavy stock pieces. The attention to detail extends to anodized billet taillights rings, billet firewall covers, Billet Hood hinges and body panels being secured with ARP hardware. The body and paint shows flawless and able to win any show it enters. Interior- Heath Elmer Restorations did A Fantastic Job Transforming It Into A Sumptuous Environment That Most Of Us Gearheads Could Live In 24/7. Genius Touches Are Everywhere: Millwork In The Dash, Aircraft Style Gauges, Dimple Die Pillars And Door Panels, A Tucked Rollcage, Custom Console, And Recaro Seating-Front And Back. Attention to detail is shown through out the cabin with Throttle body butterflies for the Vintage Air a/c system vents, billet door handles and Carbonfiber on the door panels. Performance- With the purpose of an all out street car meant for a track, One of the best Sprint Car motor builders in the country was asked to build the 427 big block, Bud Yancer from Mach Development. The bottom end utilizes a Scat Forged Crank, Carillio Rods, JE 10.1 Pistons. Bud decided to push the air through a set of Dart 310cc Aluminum heads, fitted with Manly valve train parts and a COMP solid roller, .653-/.660-inch lift Cam. A gorgeous Imagine Individual throttle body setup provides a sound like none other and is controlled FAST EZ-EFI system. To provide solid shifts, a T56 Magnum 6 speed transmission was fitted behind the big block and McLeod Racing twin-disc clutch handles the 655HP/633TQ on regular 91 octane. The pumpkin in the back consists of a narrowed Detroit Speed & Engineering (DSE) 9-inch with Truetrac diff and 3.89 gears. Suspension/Brakes- The footwork was completely handled by the restomod wizards from Detroit Speed Engineering. Front suspension consists of DSE front subframe with JRi coilover shocks, C6 spindles, splined sway bar, rollcage tied to subframe with 1-inch rollbar tubing, subframes connected with DSE subframe connectors and integrated into floorpan. Rear is DSE QuadraLink triangulated four-link rear with JRi coilover shocks, DSE splined sway bar, DSE mini-tub kit, DSE subframe connectors. Steering is made effortless through a DSE rack-and-pinion, DSE Delphi 600 pump. The braking power comes from Baer 6Piston four-wheel disc brakes all around and the Camaros mean stance is complemented by a set of custom Rushforth satin black powdercoated Whiplash wheels wrapped in BFgoodrich KDW's. This isn't a typical Resto-mod Camaro. Its not even a typical modified car. Its a combination of years of experience, thousands of hours of fabrication and a vision to create what is truly a masterpiece of automotive art. Our description or photos will never do justice to the car, but the craftsmanship will leave you breathless on sight so we encourage you to make a visit to our showroom and see for yourself.
