Description of 1981 Chevrolet Corvette Deluxe

This auction is for a rare 1981 Corvette with every desirable option: Removable Glass Roof Panels, Aluminum Wheels, Air-Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Power Driver Seat, Power Antenna, Power Electric Sport Mirrors, Power Door Locks, AM-FM Stereo with Cassette Radio, Power Antenna, Performance Axle Ratio, 4-speed manual transmission, Rear Window Defogger, white letter SBR tires 255/60R15. This Corvette also has the beautiful cinnabar interior, only available on the 1981 model, combined with the rare Mahogany Metallic exterior. This Corvette is one of the last true 4-speed manual transmission Corvettes produced by Chevrolet.
This Corvette was stored in an aircraft hanger in California for more than 25 years, before I purchased the car in December, 2014. To bring the car back to life after such a long storage, new brakes were installed, a new clutch, and new 2-stage paint was applied by the first owner.
Also, after the Intercity Lines, Inc. transportation team delivered the car to me in Southern Illinois in January, 2015, I purchased the brand-new BF Goodrich white letter tires, as well as installed the new exhaust system, new Delco battery, new Delco shock absorbers, new soft-riding rear fiberglass spring, new Urethane suspension bushings, new door weatherstrips, new glass roof weatherstrips, and new Dynamat sound and heat protection was installed under the carpet. The tires still have the blue factory markings on the tread. Just had the AC checked and found no leaks, but compressor has a noise, so I'm including a new GM compressor in box with sale. The undercarriage on this Corvette is super clean and, since it was a California car from day one, it has not been driven in snow or ice.
This car runs and drives beautifully. This is a very clean Corvette. I have too many cars and it's time to let someone else enjoy this beautiful 1981 Corvette. I have a clean Illinois title in hand in my name and also, just for historical value, a copy of the first owner's old California title.
NADA value on this classic car indicates 19K as average and 33K as the high. You can own this low-mile beauty for much less. This car is in above average condition.
