Description of 1984 Chevrolet El Camino Base Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door |
1984 El Camino - v8 305 - In family for 20 years- 101,000 Original Miles COLD START VIDEO -> youtu.be/OElnzCNYlcw **GREAT RESTORATION PROJECT, See Video** **SOLD AS-IS !!READ!!** Car has been in the family for 23 or so years as the 2nd Owner. It sat for 8 years until 2 years ago when i decided to bring it back to life for my kids to drive to school and for me to eventually restore. We took it to my local mechanic (who installed the new Crate engine at 65,000 (12 years ago). We had fluids flushed, brakes checked, new battery installed and we had new tires put on. Since then we've had the front end rebuilt, new starter, plugs wires cap, new shocks, alternator all around with air shocks in the rear, it has an aftermarket radio with new RockFord Fos. 3.5" dash speakers. I was planning on restoring this myself after my kids drove it through high school, but the engine is failing and I'm not in a position to put in an LS1 engine and i'm not rebuilding the 305. My wife wont let me sit it in the Driveway so I'm hoping someone else can turn this into the Rockstar G-Body it should be. My kids have been driving it to high school daily for the past 2 years and we've put about 10,000 miles on it. Recently it began stalling randomly at idle (stop lights and such). Mechanic said engine needed rebuild / replace but it will run until we decide to do that. Failed TEST ONLY Smog Mid December 2016. This past December the car failed emissions test. Registration Expired in November 2017 registration fee's have been paid. So something has to be done, and i'm not going to do it... This car is the real deal as you can see from cold start, no major rust and just needs an engine really. I would love to put an engine in it, but I can't justify it right now and i dont have any place to store it.. I hate to let it go because I'm a big G-Body fan.. but timing isn't right. Maybe this will be good for you.. as you can see i've already done a ton of work to it all by a professional mechanic: Here's what you'll get:
