Description of 1974 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 3500 Silverado |
I have owned this truck for a little over a year. It’s a 1974 K30 frame and drivetrain with a 1986 Silverado C10 cab on it (so it’s basically a K30 with fancy “Silverado” trim). All sitting on aRough Country lift kit on top of a 1 inch body lift. The motor is a350 V8 with a mild cam, 4v Edelbrock carb and headers and is freshly serviced and healthy:I had the truck serviced professionally to include: compression test to determine the engine’s health, replaced all fluids in engine, transmission, braking and cooling systems. As it's a 1974 chassis and drivetrain, the mileage is unknown. At the same time it got a new oil pan gasket, new spark plugs, spark plug wires, new headers, brake lines, master brake cylinder, wheel cylinders, harmonic balancer, serpentine belt, air filter, fuel filter and lines etc… Runs, shifts and brakes very well. I have receipts and a detailed list of work that was performed. It's a 4 speed with granny gear (meaning an extra short first gear), NP 205 gear driven manual transfer case with lockable front hubs,8 lug Dana 60 front axle, 14 inch Corporate GM rear, 4:11 gears. The driveshaft is a36-1/2 from A1 transmission shafts. I also had the truck upgraded todisk brakes in the rear, so now it's 4 power disk brakes all around. Lights, wipers, turn signals, heat etc… all electrical works as they should. The period correct (for 1986) radio also works and plays music through an amplifier and speakers in the back of the bench seat. The only thing that doesn’t work is the horn. The AC components are all there, but not functional. It also has anAutometer digital tachometerwith programmable shift light. The interior is in great shape, the only blemish on the bench seat is the piping on the driver’s side (think 2 inches of exposed piping), other than that the seats themselves are clean, no tears and no burn marks. Door panels are aged but in good condition, same for the glass. No cracks but you can see some light scratches on the side windows. The carpet is very nice and so is the headliner. The steering wheel is a great looking rosewood unit and the column tilts. The body was originally red, it has been resprayed in white. It’s by no means a high dollar paint-job, more of a “scuff and paint” with the engine bay, door jambs and bed still showing the red color, but it shows well enough, I’d call it a 15 footer. There is a nice tonneau cover that folds when needed. The front inner fenders have some rust damage and so do the fender lips, I suspect this is from when the big tires rubbed, possibly before the lift kit was installed as they do not rub now. The truck does however come with new inner and outer fenders. The floors, cab corners, rocker panels and bed are however solid and void of any rust issues and so is the underbody. It’s not detailed but solid. It also has a removable sunroof, no leaks there. It has custom heavy duty front and rear bumpers, custom billet grille, raised intake metal hood. Note that is has an auxiliary tank but it is not hooked up currently. The truck comes with many extras: - Extra set of “normal” 17” rims with decent threaded tires. These aren't pretty, but they are straight and balanced and great for when you need to drive longer distances. The swampers fit easily in the bed. - A full set of 8 lug 2’ aluminum wheel spacers and lug nuts - 2 New front fenders - 2 new inner fenders - 2 new cab corners and rocker panels - 1 New tail gate - All new weatherstripping - New dashpad - Handles, locks, call outs, tons of interior trim -new brake booster (the one on there works great but has lost it’s finish) - lots of odds bit and hardware including brake pads, inner vents, trim etc... There are easily $2,000 of extras that all fit in the bed for shipping with the truck. The Super Swamper and Eagle rims setup is $3,000 alone and has less than 400 miles on it. The engine bay is clean but not detailed. The jack and tools are in place too. If I kept it I’d just install all the extra parts that go with it (it’s all bolt-on stuff, weekend TLC level), and at some point have it repainted in it’s original red color but it can be driven and enjoyed as is, needs nothing. I am selling it because of currently owning 6 cars and 4 bikes… I live in a metro area and while it’s awesome to scare Priuses with it, it’s just not well suited for driving around here.
