Rare, Cool Sport Luxury 1987 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe

You know how some cars start out so cool, just to get dorky? Some cars never recover, deservedly kicked to the dustbin of automotive history, yet others come back with better looks and more cool factor in the third or fourth generation. This '87 Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe is just such an example of one that recovered, not having veered too far off the path to begin with. (Cough, 1975, cough!)

The Aerocoupe was a limited production option-only 6,052 were made in 1987-so this car is cool...and rare! The Aerocoupe fastback-like rear glass and NASCAR-inspired spoilers front and back declare this Monte Carlo is a grown-up hot rod, not a boy racer. That exhaust note, too-raw, brawny, startling. The whole package promises luxury and speed. It does not disappoint.

This particular car has been well cared for, kept in storage for years and protected from the elements. The paint is in fantastic condition, the sparkle subtle, the color deep. As great as the car looks on the outside, it's the inside that wows. Almost thirty years old, yet this fantastic? The seats and carpet and dash and door handles and trim are all immaculate.
