Description of 1958 Chevrolet Impala |
You are bidding on a true Barn find or I should say a stored find that was stored for 25 years. It has zero rust and only very few spots of surface rust. I can guarantee you that you will not find a car like this one any where that is the quality of this car. It still has the original jack sheet installation on the trunk lid. I found this car about three years ago in south Atlanta where it had been stored for 25 years. The gentleman that I aquired it from was in his early seventies and had bought it in New Mexico in the mid eightys and had driven it for a couple of years and then stored it. It still has the New Mexico title. It was stored in a insulated one car building. I had the 348 rebuilt by a well know engine builder in my area and have all the paper work on the rebuild and re-sealed the transmission and replaced all the wheel cylinders and had the original carb built. I have also replaced the vent . ide. back side windows on the passagener side and the rear side roll up window. but have not replaced the drivers side vent window and the large roll up window. I have them but just have not had time to put them in. These windows were bought from Auto Clasic Parts who specilize in impala's and the cost was around $2000 but all the chrome was new that trimed the windows when I purchased them from Auto City Classic. The interior is ok and I think it is original. I have a friend that built a 58 Impala last year and spent over 50K and used three cars to complete his. After looking at my 58. he said he could have saved 15k on the body work that he put in to his 58. When the motor was removed for the rebuild we did paint under the hood in the engine compartment . I have had it stored in my 40x80 shop for 3 years now and I have lost intrest in this car and would like for someone that has the interest and resources to complete this car back to the highest quality. On Jan-28-15 at 09:06:37 PST. seller added the following information:The photos of the under side of the 58 were not my 58. nbsp;I had put those photos in the 58 file by mistake. I have many photos of the 58. but you can't up load after the auction starts. So any one needing additional photo's please text me your email or send through ebay and I will be glade to send more. I have the receipt for the engine re-build and the window I can also send. Thanks and good luck bidding. My cell number is 770-789-0718 |
