1968 Chevy C-10 CST Click Here to View Video This beautiful 1968 C-10 is a perfect example of a road-ready, reliable, and easy to drive classic truck that is in exceptionally clean condition, and can be shown at local and regional events with pride. Paint is glossy, slick, and clean and shows wonderfully all around. The SPID shows original coloring of Light Blue with off white, and although this truck has obviously been repainted fairly recently, it appears to be in factory correct hue and style, and looks perfect on the truck. It has a few of the light, normal-use marks you expect to see on any vehicle that has actually been driven a few times like a stone chip, light scuff, or other blemish, and the worst marks are a dime size ding above the passenger rear tail lamp (highlighted in the photos), some tiny, 2-4mm paint runs/bubbles on the passenger lower cab corner (highlighted in photos), and a small paint cut about .75” long on the passenger side cowl (highlighted in photos). Look at the 100 photos I have provided, and see the detailed shots of those areas, as well as the rest of the truck. These are minor marks most sellers would not mention, but I do. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN FULLY DETAILED!!! WE HAVE WASHED IT, WIPED IT DOWN WITH TURTLE WAX QUICK SHINE, AND PUT SOME SHINY STUFF ON THE TIRES. Imagine how beautiful it will look when you take the time to really clean it from front to back!!!! The body is solid steel, and a four inch felt covered magnet will stick to it all over on every metal panel. The panels appear to be all original or OEM spec units, and NOT aftermarket thin-walled reproductions. The truck is equipped with chrome front and rear bumpers, and the front has bumperettes with rubber trim as well. Bright grill mouldings, hood and headlamp surround, and bright headlight buckets all look great. Chevrolet hood emblem, CST door badging, and Chevy10 fender trim all look great. Marker lights, turn signals, head lamps, and tail lights all work as they should and look great too. Glass is clean and neat, and free of any cracks or chips. Rubber seals for front and rear window, as well as weather stripping and seals all show to be clean, pliable, and functional. Vent visors, side mirrors, door handles, fuel cap, and wiper arms are all neat, clean and look good on the truck. Doors lock/unlock as they should with included key. Bright full-length side trim shows wonderfully on both sides, but the black center is faded needs redone in spots. Tailgate trim and tail lamp surrounds are all pretty and bright. Tailgate has white CHEVROLET lettering on it that looks great, and a tail gate cap to protect it. It opens and closes easily, and has both support arms in place too. Rear lower cab trim is shiny and nice. Gutters are clean, solid, and show wonderfully. The truck rides on RWL Dayton Quadra LTE radial tires with at least 85% of the useable tread life remaining on them. They are size P235/75R15 at all four corners. Wheels are Chevy Rally steel rims painted in charcoal silver, and they are 6-lug with 80’s 4x4 center caps topped with tri-bar spinners. It all looks great on the truck, and it currently has only 3 spinners as someone stole one off of it at the downtown cruise night two days ago, and I am still trying to find a replacement. If I cannot, the truck will come with a NEW set of four matching units of a different style, or a $100 VISA Giftcard if you want to buy your own. Bed is clean, painted, and super solid, with no liner spray or anything else on it. It may have a tiny mark or scuff somewhere but overall looks even better in person then it does in the photos. Window fuzzies are good and work like they should. Vent windows open, close, and seal like they should. Open the doors and you find a very nice, very original style interior. Door panels are clean, and show very light signs of use. Window rollers and door pulls work as they should and look great. Driver and passenger arm rest pads are in good condition, but show light signs of use and age. Dual padded sun visors look and work great. Dash pad is clean and solid and color matched to the truck. Gauge surround is clean and nice and presents like it is original to the truck. Wiper switch, Light switch, and manual choke knobs are all present and show well. Speedometer works and is 3 mph off compared to modern GPS. Odometer is functional and shows 480 miles. I would guess it to be 100,480 miles, or perhaps mileage since the restoration was completed a few years back. Center indicator lights and oil/generator lights work as they should, and the fuel gauge appears to be accurate and functional as well. AM-FM cassette player was installed by prior owner, works as it should, and actually sounds pretty nice! Ashtray opens and closes like it should. Glove box opens to good cardboard liner, and has the SPID sticker intact. 12V cigar lighter is intact and functional. Heat and fan controls work, and the blower motor functions as it should too. Full carpeting shows wonderfully, and has no rips, tears, or damage. IT goes from the insulated front of the truck all the way to the back just under the window, and even covers the fuel tank behind the seat. A LOKAR shift was added and looks great with its silver topper and black boot with trim ring. A rare BUDDY SEAT is installed in the truck, and has buckets for each side and a center seat with seatbelt that flips down to provide an armrest. It allows for three people to fit legally and safely in the truck, and is a cool CST option. The seat is clean and shows wonderfully. It moves fore and aft like it should. It has a small, .75” seam starting to pull on the top rear segment of the seat base. Not a big deal, but I want to mention it. Pop open the hood and you are met with a clean and neat engine bay that is stock in appearance, and nice enough to open at shows and cruise nights. The 307ci V8 is a great running motor, and has no known issues at this time. It starts easily, idles cleanly, and is ready to drive quickly. It does not stutter, stumble, or overload at all, and pulls steadily from idle to top speed. The motor makes no odd noises or sounds, and does not smoke, run rich, or run lean. Carb was cleaned and rebuilt by the master, John Murray, and works better than it did when the truck left the factory! Hoses, belts, plugs, plug wires were all new not long ago, and are still clean and fully serviceable to this day. A DELCO battery is in great condition, and has a roll-off switch for a cutoff. Stock style manifolds look great, have no cracks, and don’t leak. Radiator must have been replaced during the resto, because it shows like new, and has no sign of any leaks or cracks. The truck runs great, and is a wonderful cruiser that is happiest around 55 mph, just like the speed limits it was built for intended it to be. I have taken it on one long trip of about 100 miles round-trip, and it did everything right. It handles great, and does not wander or pull to the side or anything. It tracks perfectly straight too. Ride is soft and pliable, and it does not wallow when cornering. It does NOT get hot, and on our trip we were stuck on US 41 for 20 minutes at a dead stop due to an accident and the truck never ran hot. Power steering is so light anyone can drive the truck with ease. Steering is not sloppy or loose, and provides solid feedback to the driver. Power brakes work great, and bring the truck down from speed with ease. They do not chatter, squeal, pull, lock-up, or have any issues. 350 turbo transmission shifts smooth and crisp in all speeds, and is a perfect match to the trucks motor. Chassis is clean and basic, and shows the pans, cab corners, bed lowers, and everything else to be solid and rust free. THERE IS SURFACE OXIDATION ON COMPNENTS LIKE THE REAR AXLE AND SUSPENSION PARTS, BUT THIS IS NOT RUST, IT IS LIGHT OXIDATION THAT WHISKS OFF WITH A WIRE BRUSH. Rear spare carrier is intact, as is a spare wheel and tire. The tire is probably not useable, but I haven’t removed it to check date codes so I am not sure. Undercarriage is NOT something you will put mirrors under at a car show, but it IS very solid, very clean, and shows how straight and rust free the truck is.
